For the first time, here is a book that focuses on in vitro approaches to the study of the toxicology of polluting agents (including heavy metals, radionuclides, micro-organics, estrogenic compounds, and complex mixtures) in the aquatic environment. Schonland: Scientist and Soldier is a biography of Sir Basil Schonland FRS (1896-1972). Schonland was a major contributor to twentieth-century British and Commonwealth science, both in peace and war.
