This book explores the workplace experiences, opportunities, and
challenges that emerge from the nuances of diversity and inclusion
dynamics in Latin American and Caribbean countries. While the first
part of the book addresses emerging frameworks on diversity and
inclusion in Latin America by examining the effects of history,
traditions, and cultural differences, the second part offers case
studies of country-specific actualities. The authors highlight that
despite the many shared cultural aspects of the region, it is not
homogeneous and there are significant differences from place to
place. It follows then that a variety of cultural differences
implies a variety of approaches to workplace values, and more
specifically, to the understanding of diversity and inclusion.
Examining topics such as gender identity, disability, and racial
gaps in countries throughout the region, this book offers scholars
a fresh perspective on an emerging region.
This edited collection offers a nontraditional approach to
diversity management, going beyond gender, race, and ethnicity.
Examining ageism, disability, and spirituality, the book provides a
discussion of different D&I applications and introduces a
framework consisting of a diagnostic phase, gap analysis, and an
action plan, which can be modified to attend to specific needs of
organizations. Researchers and practitioners will learn a viable
way to address diversity in global organizations.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the
11th Italian Research Conference on Digital Libraries, IRCDL 2015,
held in Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, in January 2015. The 13 full papers,
4 short papers and 2 invited poster papers presented were carefully
selected from 19 submissions. They are organized under the
following five categories: semantic modeling; projects; models and
applications; content analysis; and digital libraries
infrastructures. The papers deal with numerous multidisciplinary
aspects ranging from computer science to humanities in the broader
sense, including research areas such as archival and library

new organizational/business models.
The goal of the volume is twofold: to help engineers to understand the design and development process and the specific techniques utilized for constructing expert systems in engineering and, secondly, to introduce computer specialists to significant applications of knowledge-based techniques in engineering. Among the authors are world famous experts of engineering and knowledge-based systems development.
User modeling researchers look for ways of enabling interactive
software systems to adapt to their users-by constructing,
maintaining, and exploiting user models, which are representations
of properties of individual users. User modeling has been found to
enhance the effectiveness and/or usability of software systems in a
wide variety of situations. Techniques for user modeling have been
developed and evaluated by researchers in a number of fields,
including artificial intelligence, education, psychology,
linguistics, human-computer interaction, and information science.
The biennial series of International Conferences on User Modeling
provides a forum in which academic and industrial researchers from
all of these fields can exchange their complementary insights on
user modeling issues. The published proceedings of these
conferences represent a major source of information about
developments in this area.
