Laugh And Pray Today is a collection of poems, some funny and some containing Bible truths. It's for all boys and girls everywhere, even those in their second childhood. I mixed poems together in this way because I believe our God is filled with love and joy. I don't see Him as a dark, somber God, but rather One who loves to laugh, and One who delights in His children. The message I want to convey to children is that once they have exchanged their life for the life of Christ, and are born again, they can relax and be at peace with themselves. They can put smiles on their faces and enjoy life as they experience the love and joy that only comes with knowing Jesus Christ in a personal way.

The Conductive Organization - Building Beyond Sustainability (Paperback): Hubert Saint-Onge, Charles Armstrong The Conductive Organization - Building Beyond Sustainability (Paperback)
Hubert Saint-Onge, Charles Armstrong
R1,536 Discovery Miles 15 360 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

An organization's culture lies at the heart of its ability to perform. In the knowledge economy, new rules are emerging and organizations must rethink how they will compete by leveraging their tacit knowledge - their intangible assets - in order to create and sustain a strategic advantage. In this book, Hubert Saint-Onge and Charles Armstrong, two corporate leaders who have been in the forefront of using knowledge management to gain strategic advantage, focus on knowledge-based customer relationships, innovative internal structures, and self-initiated learning cultures, in order to explain the building blocks that must be in place to create and sustain a knowledge-based culture within organizations-a culture that they argue is integral to a high-performance organization. This book provides a blueprint for creating and leading organizations with strong knowledge-based cultures to achieve breakthrough performance. Using the idea of conductivity, the authors describe the successful organization of the future as one that increases the quality and flow of knowledge within the organization and within its network of suppliers, customers, and other collaborators. The narrative is based on the thoughts, experience, and models of Hubert Saint-Onge and Charles Armstrong, who have successfully led high-performance companies in the financial services sector and the engineering and manufacturing sector. Each chapter includes practical examples from their experience and from other successful leaders.

Korean Society - Civil Society, Democracy and the State (Hardcover, 2nd edition): Charles Armstrong Korean Society - Civil Society, Democracy and the State (Hardcover, 2nd edition)
Charles Armstrong; Edited by Charles K Armstrong
R5,486 Discovery Miles 54 860 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

While most analyses of Korean politics have looked to elites to explain political change, this new and revised edition of Korean Society examines the role of ordinary people in this dramatic transformation. Taking the innovative theme of 'civil society' - voluntary organizations outside the role of the state which have participated in the process of political and social democratization - the essays collected here examine Korea as one of the most dramatic cases in the world of ordinary citizens participating in the transformation of politics.
Key topics are discussed including:
*Comparisons of Korean democratization to the experiences of post-authoritarian regimes elsewhere in the world
*Comparisons of the theory of civil society as developed in Western Europe and America
*The legacy of Korea's Confucian past for contemporary politics and society
*Close examinations of various civil society movements
*South Korea and North Korea
Conceptually innovative, up-to-date and timely, the new edition of this book will be an invaluable resource for students of contemporary Korea, Asian politics and the global struggle for democracy.

The essays in this volume explore interartistic connections in Irish literature, drama, film and the visual arts. Within modern and postmodern culture, innovation is often driven by surprising interrelations between the arts, and this book offers a discussion of this phenomenon and analyses a number of artworks that move across disciplines. Several contributors examine the concept of ekphrasis, looking at how Irish writers such as Seamus Heaney, John Banville, Paul Muldoon, Ciaran Carson, Patrick Kavanagh, W.B. Yeats and Samuel Beckett have responded to the visual arts. Others explore interartistic 'crossings' in the drama of Brian Friel, in James Barry's eighteenth-century Shakespeare paintings and in contemporary Irish film. Together, the essays present a fresh perspective on Irish artistic culture and open up new avenues for future study.
