Double bill of seasonal Barbie tales. In 'Barbie: A Perfect Christmas' (2011), Barbie and her sisters prepare to visit their parents in Manhattan for the Christmas holidays. In 'Barbie in the Nutcracker' (2001), Barbie is the ballerina who befriends the brave young toy soldier and joins him on an adventure in the world of the toys. But they must beware, for danger lurks in the shadows, with the evil Mouse King and his dreaded rodent army waiting to attack at a moment's notice.
Cardiac troponins T and I (cTnT, cTnI) measured by immunoassay have become the mainstay of clinical chemistry laboratories offering rapid testing for emergency physicians and cardiologists who deal with patients with chest pain. The extensive evidence for their diagnostic and prognostic role has resulted in the redefinition of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The acute coronary syndrome which includes AMI and unstable angina is a disease continuum rather than distinct separate entities. The use of cardiac troponins has had major impact on the management of the chest pain patient. This book presents current research on the analytical and clinical aspects of using cardiac troponin and is aimed at practising physicians, clinical and basic scientists and for the next generation of medical students who are taught about these markers in isolation without a deep seated knowledge of their development, clinical use and more importantly, pitfalls.
Double-bill of Barbie Christmas tales. In 'A Christmas Carol', it's Christmas Eve, and Barbie tells Kelly the story of a girl named Eden Starling, a glamorous singing diva who owns a theatre and doesn't believe in Christmas. On Christmas Eve, she orders everyone who works for her to sing on Christmas Day, and is then visited by three spirits who try to change her perspective on Christmas forever. In 'The Nutcracker', loosely adapted from E.T. A. Hoffmann's story 'The Nutcracker and the Mouse King', Barbie tells sister Kelly the story of Clara, who receives a nutcracker from her Aunt Drosselmeyer. Awakening under the Christmas tree, Clara finds her nutcracker fighting the Mouse King and his mouse army, and, deciding to help, finds herself shrunk to their size.
