Es bietet eine detaillierte Einfuhrung in die wichtigsten Themen der Atom- und Molekulphysik und der damit verbundenen Methoden moderner optischer Physik. Durch die klar strukturierten Kapitel wird der Leser mit den wichtigsten Phanomenen und Modellen der Atom- und Molekulphysik vertraut gemacht und an deren aktuelle Entwicklungen in der modernen Forschung herangefuhrt. Der vorliegende erste Teil legt den Schwerpunkt auf die Struktur der Atome und Molekule und der einschlagigen spektroskopischen Methoden.
