When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.

Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar, escape from the Devil's Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea - notably Jack. Jack's only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth, a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry, a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.

Each thematic unit presents key language in context and through
activities, including songs and chants, stories, sticker activities
and projects. Students work independently, in pairs or groups to
develop core English language skills and 21st century skills, such
as communication, collaboration and critical thinking. Four-page
Checkpoints after every three units focus on Assessment for
Learning and allow students to assess their own progress. Each book
includes a Young Learner's Exams preparation section. 18 extra
pages of reading skills 18 extra pages of grammar 6 extra pages of
exam preparation Grammar is presented visually and practised
interactively, to keep students involved and interested. Fun
activities reinforce and motivate students to understand and
acquire new language. Students are exposed to exam style tasks and
formats from the beginning and throughout the course, building
confidence in taking external exams. A variety of content from
subjects such as Science, Maths, History and Art is presented
throughout the course, introducing the necessary vocabulary for
students to learn other subjects and achieve comprehension beyond
the everyday.
Diego Luna directs this biographical drama based on the life and
achievements of Mexican American civil rights activist and labour
movement leader Cesar Chavez. The film shows how Chavez (Michael
Peńa) went from being just another Latino American farm worker to a
passionate and respected spokesperson whose embrace of non-violent
means of protest led to the securing of a living wage for workers
like himself.

A rich, long-term ethnography of women seafood traders in Mexico.
The "shrimp ladies," locally known as changueras, of Mazatlán,
Mexico, sell seafood in open-air markets, forming an extralegal but
key part of the economy built around this "pink gold.” Over time,
they struggled to evolve from marginalized peddlers to local icons
depicted in popular culture, even as they continue to work at an
open-air street market. Pink Gold documents the shrimp traders'
resilience and resourcefulness, from their early conflicts with the
city and forming a union, to carving out a physical space for a
seafood market, and even navigating conflicts with the Mexican
military. Drawing from her two decades of fieldwork, MarĂa L.
Cruz-Torres explores the inspiring narrative of this overlooked
group of women involving grassroots politics, transborder and
familial networking, debt and informal economic practices, personal
sacrifices, and simple courage. She argues that, amid intense
economic competition, their success relies on group solidarity that
creates interlocking networks of mutual trust, or confianza, that
in turn enable them to cross social and political boundaries that
would typically be closed to them. Ultimately, Pink Gold offers
fresh insights into issues of gender and labor, urban public space,
the street economy, commodities, and globalization.

format though beautiful images and engaging content, such as
Primary Source documents and graphic organizers.
Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not

Antimicrobial peptides covers the most important efforts of
scientists and engineers worldwide to accelerate the process of
discovery, production, and eventual market penetration of more
potent antimicrobial peptides. These efforts have been fueled by
emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and data
science, molecular and CFD simulations, easy-to-use process
simulation packages, microfluidics, 3D-printing, among many others.
Such technologies can now be implemented and scaled up quickly and
at relatively low cost in low-budget production facilities,
critical to moving to sustainable and marketable products
worldwide. Discovering novel antimicrobial peptides rationally and
cost-effectively has emerged as one of the significant challenges
of modern biotechnology. Thus far, this process has been tedious
and costly, resulting in molecules with activities far below those
needed to address the current challenge of microbial resistance to
antibiotics that takes the lives of thousands of people around the
world every year. Antimicrobial peptides also highlights how
multidisciplinary teams have assembled to address the challenges of
manufacturing, biological testing, and clinical trials to finally
reach complete translation.
