E' un richiamo al dovere di salvaguardare l'ambiente minacciato dall'incuria e dalla trascuratezza di produttori di pochi scrupoli, contro i quali alcuni studiosi e tecnici si battono per difendere un sito particolarmente bello e a rischio di seria contaminazione. E' uno spaccato di storia, certo rielaborato dall'autore, ma nemmeno poi tanto, perche fatti realmente accaduti si intrecciano con elementi di fantasia. Si tratta di un lavoro che lascia col fiato sospeso fino alla fine. Le molte vittime di questa storia, alla fine, grazie all'acume dell'Ispettore Perrone, avranno giustizia.
