Triple bill of zombie films. 'Zombie Apocalypse' (2011) is a
made-for-TV horror starring Ving Rhames in which a group of human
survivors of a zombie outbreak set out to make it to an uninfected
island. Ramona (Taryn Manning), Billy (Eddie Steeples) and Kevin
(Gerald Webb) are almost killed when they head out to search for
food. Fortunately for them, they meet a tough group that includes
Henry (Rhames) and Cassie (Lesley-Ann Brandt), who take on the
zombies with weapons as diverse as a sledgehammer and a samurai
sword. 'Abraham Lincoln Vs Zombies' (2012) is a tongue-in-cheek
zombie horror in which Abraham Lincoln is distracted from his
composition of the Gettysburg Address by a more pressing concern -
an outbreak of the undead. Lincoln (Bill Oberst Jr.) leads a team
of Secret Service agents to the area to try and contain the
disaster. There is a suggestion that Lincoln may have some
experience of dealing with zombies from his past and he takes under
his wing a youngster by the name of Teddy Roosevelt (Canon
Kuipers), who may have a role of his own to play in the American
story. 'The Dead' (2010) is a zombie horror set in West Africa.
Robert Freeman stars as Lieutenant Brian Murphy, a military
engineer who finds himself stranded in the wilderness of Burkina
Faso after a zombie outbreak lays waste to civilisation. Eventually
he teams up with Sergeant Daniel Dembele (Prince David Oseia), a
local soldier who has gone AWOL from the army to search for his
missing son.

2008 fantasy adventure set in Dark Age Britain. Young Merlin (Simon
Lloyd Roberts) has to emerge from his training as a wizard to take
on the might of the dragon empire in this exciting tale of magic
and mythical creatures.
An argument against the myth of American exceptionalism Endless
Holocausts: Mass Death in the History of the United States Empire
helps us to come to terms with what we have long suspected: the
rise of the U.S. Empire has relied upon an almost unimaginable loss
of life, from its inception during the European colonial period, to
the present. And yet, in the face of a series of endless holocausts
at home and abroad, the doctrine of American exceptionalism has
plagued the globe for over a century. However much the ruling class
insists on U.S. superiority, we find ourselves in the midst of a
sea change. Perpetual wars, deteriorating economic conditions, the
resurgence of white supremacy, and the rise of the Far Right have
led millions of people to abandon their illusions about this
country. Never before have so many people rejected or questioned
traditional platitudes about the United States. In Endless
Holocausts author David Michael Smith demolishes the myth of
exceptionalism by demonstrating that manifold forms of mass death,
far from being unfortunate exceptions to an otherwise benign
historical record, have been indispensable in the rise of the
wealthiest and most powerful imperium in the history of the world.
At the same time, Smith points to an extraordinary history of
resistance by Indigenous peoples, people of African descent, people
in other nations brutalized by U.S. imperialism, workers, and
democratic-minded people around the world determined to fight for
common dignity and the sake of the greater good.

Comprising two volumes, Thermoelectrics and Its Energy Harvesting
reviews the dramatic improvements in technology and application of
thermoelectric energy with a specific intention to reduce and reuse
waste heat and improve novel techniques for the efficient
acquisition and use of energy. This volume, Modules, Systems and
Applications in Thermoelectrics, discusses the practical, novel,
and truly groundbreaking applications of thermoelectrics in a range
of markets. The book details the U.S. interest in alternative
energy and energy harvesting, specifically, the current efforts to
use thermoelectric generators (TGs) to reduce emissions.
Internationally, it expounds on the strong interest in Japan, Korea
and Europe to incorporate TGs in cars to reduce fuel consumption
and meet EU carbon dioxide emission targets; the European plans to
build an isotopic powered thermoelectric generator; and India's use
of TG s in converting hot water from steel mills into electricity.
Google's Programmable Search Engines (PSEs, previously called
Custom Search Engines) provide search opportunities that are
unavailable with any other tool. PSEs have advanced settings and
search operators that are not supported by "regular" Google. With
PSEs, it is possible to perform filtered searches within parts of
the web as if they were databases! While lots of professionals use
existing PSEs to source for talent or with other research goals,
few people have experience creating them. Even fewer know about
powerful PSE-only search operators. The main reason PSEs are not as
popular as they should be is that it is not easy to get educated on
PSE creation. There is little information online and no books
(other than this one) on the subject. Even less info is available
on the "structured" operators that allow for filtered searches. The
first of its kind, this book hopes to popularize these fun and
powerful tools so that many more people can include PSEs in their
work. Key Features: A detailed introduction to creating PSEs,
including info absent in Google's help A "hack" for creating PSEs
that look for profiles in seconds An introduction to advanced
PSE-only search operators allowed to perform filtered searches of
parts of the web A "hack" for expanding Google's search limits to
500 terms Use cases, examples, and approaches that would be
educational for those doing online research This book will be of
interest to researchers, OSINT specialists, investigative
journalists, Competitive Intelligence people, recruiters, and
Sourcers, to name a few categories, and to the general public
interested in how to search better.

In Mossback, David Pritchett traverses geography, history, and
genealogy to explore landscapes and mythologies at the intersection
of environmental, indigenous, and social justice. This collection
of a dozen essays searches terrain—from the heart of a swamp to
the modern grid lines remaking our watersheds, to the tracks of the
animals who share this earth, to the inner landscapes of the
soul—to find glimpses of light in dark places and hope in painful
legacies. Pritchett recounts a trip to Dismal Swamp, where he takes
inspiration from the many enslaved people who found refuge there.
Another piece offers two ways of seeing the landscape: the
watershed as an ecological unit, and the grid as a colonial
construct. Still another weaves personal narrative with the story
of the Trail of Tears to describe how settler colonialism became an
apocalypse for indigenous nations and ecologies. Pritchett explores
an early apocalyptic story from the book of Daniel and considers
new ways of relating to the land and its inhabitants. He focuses on
the relationship between technology and trees to argue that humans
have largely discarded ecological interrelationship in favor of
extractive ways of living, and he travels the Ventura River,
reflecting on waterways as being endangered but still operating as
places of refuge for people and wildlife. The word “mossbackâ€
has been used to describe rural southerners who lived in swampy
areas during colonial times and moved so slowly that moss grew on
their clothing. It is also used to describe fish and turtles who
show similar growth on their shells, Confederate deserters who
refused to fight and, after the war, southerners who fought against
the Ku Klux Klan. Pritchett reclaims the word to celebrate those
who move deliberately through the natural world, protecting the
land and the relations they depend on.
Originally published in 1989. In this interdisciplinary study, Dr
Levin offers an account of personal growth and self-fulfilment
based on the development of our capacity for listening. This book
should be of interest to advanced students of critical theory,
psychology, cultural studies, ethics, continental philosophy,
ontology, metaphysics.
The first investigation into the choral foundation of the Chapel
Royal, Dublin Castle. The Chapel Royal, Dublin Castle, was the
place of worship of the British monarch's representative in Ireland
from 1814 until the inception of the Irish Free State in 1922. It
was founded and maintained by the joint efforts of church and
state, and thus its history provides valuable insights into how the
relationship between religion and politics shaped Irish society and
identity. The Dublin Chapel was established in imitation of the
Chapel Royal of St James's Palace, London, and was served by a
staff of clergy and musicians. Its musical foundation was a formal
and independent entity, with its own personnel and performance
traditions. Its distinctive repertoire included music from the
English and Irish cathedral traditions, as well as works written by
composers associated directly with the Chapel. This study
investigates the Chapel's constitution, liturgy and music through
an examination of previously unexplored primary material.
Discussion of the circumstances of the Chapel's founding and its
governance structures situates the institution in the context of
the church-state relationship that existed following the Union of
1800. Further, by exploring architecture, churchmanship and musical
style, O'Shea demonstrates how the Chapel was part of a wider
aesthetic and liturgical tradition. The choral foundation is
brought to life with accounts of the Chapel's clergy, organists,
boy choristers and gentleman singers, which provide insights into
Dublin's social history during a period of significant change. This
book reflects on the Dublin Chapel Royal's legacy a century after
its closure and offers a new perspective into a forgotten corner of
Irish cultural, religious and political history.
First published in 1988. Routledge is an imprint of Taylor &
Francis, an informa company.

Joseph J. Lawson directs this family film following the adventures
of a dog who is left home alone at Christmas. When his owners head
to visit relatives for the Christmas holidays they are disappointed
that they have to leave their beloved dog Bone behind. However,
given that a pair of burglars plan to break into houses that are
without their owners for the holidays, it is perhaps just as well
that Bone is around. The resourceful dog quickly turns the tables
on the burglars, using every trick imaginable to try and repel them
from his territory. Davis Cleveland and David DeLuise star.
This is a unique study, contuining the work of Merleau-Ponty and
Heidegger, and using the techniques of phenomenology against the
prevailing nihilism of our culture. It expands our understanding of
the human potential for spiritual self-realization by interpreting
it as the developing of a bodily-felt awareness informing our
gestures and movements. The author argues that a psychological
focus on our experience of well-being and pathology as embodied
beings contributes significantly to a historically relevant
critique of ideology. It also provides an essential touchstone in
experience for a fruitful individual and collective response to the
danger of nihilism. Dr Levin draws on Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology
to clarify Heidegger's analytic of human beings through an
interpretation that focuses on our experience of being embodied. He
reconstructs in modern terms the wisdom implicit in western and
semitic forms of religion and philosophy, considering the work of
Freud, Jung, Focault and Neitzsche, as well as that of American
educational philosophers, including Dewey. In particular, he draws
on the psychology of Freud and Jung to clarify our historical
experience of gesture and movement and to bring to light its
potential in the fulfilment of Selfhood. Throughout the book, the
pathologies of the ego and its journey into Selfhood are considered
in relation to the conditons of technology and the powers of
nihilism.
