This collected book is about the eduLab projects, an initiative
with focus on Scaling Change through Apprenticising and Ecological
Leadership, designed to surface and spread ground-up information
and communication technology-based pedagogical innovations. It
presents the goals and rationale behind eduLab, an overview of the
research projects conducted by its principal investigators during
its funding tenure, as well as synthesizing thoughts on the entire
endeavor. This book not only marks the achievements of the eduLab
programme but also serves as inspiration for future projects. It
presents Singapore education in action - a continually evolving and
adapting education system that delivers a system well known for its
high quality as much as it is forward-looking.
A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: In remembering the writing of DIAMOND AND
THE FOSTERS, I am reminded of an eight-foot-long, filled pillow my
family used to all nap on during long Saturday afternoons. I am
reminded of "pow-wows" my father used to call after getting
promotions and bonuses. It is the same spot Diamond lands every
time she sits in a circle, legs crossed, with her new family. In
those moments, I am Her. Sitting, with a spark in my young eye,
hoping for a chance to say what had just become perfectly clear. I
cherish those memories, and I hope they can inspire parents and
children to come together, in a circle, to share a little song.-md

This open access edited book brings together a closer examination
of European and Asian responses to the escalating rivalry between
the US and China. As the new Cold War has surfaced as a perceivable
reality in the post-COVID era, the topic itself is of great
importance to policymakers, academic researchers, and the
interested public. Furthermore, this manuscript makes a valuable
contribution to an under-studied and increasingly important
phenomenon in international relations: the impact of the growing
strategic competition between the United States and China on third
parties, such as small and middle powers in the two arguably most
affected regions of the world: Europe and East Asia. The European
side has been under-studied and explicitly comparative work on
Europe and East Asia is extremely rare. Given that the manuscript
focuses heavily on recent developments-and because many of these
developments have been quite dramatic-there are very few
publications that cover the same topics.
This book explores future directions in Singaporean education as it
moves beyond its historically formative goals of survival,
efficiency and performance, and its emphasis on grades and formal
credentialing. It examines the future of education via the 4Life
framework, a four-form model for purposeful learning centered
around social-emotional regulation and the well-being of the
individual learner: Life-long learning, the learning that occurs
over a learner's lifespan; Life-deep learning, a deep understanding
of learned content and adaptive expertise; Life-wide learning,
learning in multiple contexts besides the school environment; and
Life-wise learning, learning which focuses on the learner's values,
morals, character and historical empathy. This book also
illustrates how purposeful learning serves to equip learners with
the knowledge, skills, dispositions and competencies they need to
thrive as adaptive workers in the economy of the future.
The book shares stories of the role of school leadership in
Singapore, with case studies from selected schools, that provides
some insights on how Singapore delivers a high-quality education
that had led to it achieving high rankings in TIMMS and PISA. This
book will provide both the historical and present contexts of
changes in the education system, school leadership and teacher
leadership in Singapore that made it what it is today. It will
distil some universal principles of educational change that school
leaders and policy makers can apply in bringing about educational
changes that will enhance the learning experiences of students and
prepare them for future challenges.

This practical volume is designed to assist graduate students in
planning, conducting, and writing theses or dissertations in the
social and physical sciences. Numerous examples are provided and
many tips are included to facilitate completion of the thesis or
dissertation.
Examines the various aspects of the relationships between mothers
and education at different levels in the education system. In
particular, mothers of young children in relation to various
educational policies are looked at in interaction with their
children's schools and teachers.

The construction industry faces the challenge of synthesizing
information and deriving insight from massive, dynamic, ambiguous,
and possibly conflicting digital data. Various data models and
algorithms have been proposed and implemented to examine data,
acquire information, and derive understanding from the information.
They usually focus on one or several aspects of the design,
procurement, construction, and maintenance phases of a project.
Examples of those systems include interactive design systems,
decision support systems, and 3D simulations. The focus of the book
is to investigate and develop the framework of using Radio
Frequency Identification (RFID) and Building Information Modeling
(BIM) for the decision-making process in steel construction. It has
the potential to improve compatibility of the software and database
used in projects. The significance of the book is in helping user
to select an optimal plan for fabrication, delivery and erection;
enabling data stakeholders to detect the expected information and
discover the unexpected situations in massive data sets; developing
a BIM zoning plan for jobsite safety control; and describing a
RFID, GIS, and GPS future system.
