One of the biggest myths that plagues the business world today is
that our ability to network depends on having the "gift-of-gab."
You don't have to be outgoing to be successful at networking. You
don't have to become a relentless self-promoter. In fact, you don't
have to act like an extrovert at all. The truth is that when
introverts are armed with a plan that lets them be their authentic
selves, they make the best networkers. Matthew Pollard, an
introvert himself, draws on over a decade of research and
real-world examples to provide an actionable blueprint for
introverted networking. A sequel to Pollard's international
bestseller The Introvert's Edge: How the Quiet and Shy Can Outsell
Anyone, this book masterfully confronts the stigma around the
so-called extroverted arena of networking. In The Introvert's Edge
to Networking, you'll discover how to: Overcome your fear and
discomfort when networking Turn networking into a repeatable system
Leverage your innate introverted strengths Target and connect with
top influencers Leverage the power of virtual and social networking
The introvert's roadmap to success doesn't look like the
extroverts, we're different and we should embrace that. Whether
you're a small business owner struggling to make a living or a
professional who's hit a career plateau, The Introvert's Edge to
Networking is your path to a higher income and a rolodex of
powerful connections.
Sales is a skill just like any other, which anyone can learn and
master--including the introvert who is more comfortable alone than
in the sales field. As with any type of success, it's all about
learning how to leverage your natural strengths. Extroverts are
rarely short on words, and their conversations and pitches never
feel sales-y to them. The world of sales just comes naturally to
the extrovert. However, introverts aren't comfortable with
traditional tactics like aggressively pushing a product or talking
over a customer's objections. Known as "The Rapid Growth Guy",
author Matthew Pollard shares how introverts can feel equally
comfortable and sincere in the sales world as well without changing
who they are. In The Introvert's Edge, this book reveals how to:
Find your natural confidence Prepare for every situation Easily
sidestep objections Ask for the sale (without asking) Leverage the
power of virtual and social networking The introverted salesperson
is no longer an oxymoron, it's a recipe for success. Whether you
want to drum up clients, pitch investors, or exceed quotas, The
Introvert's Edge will unleash the low-key, high-impact sales
machine lurking inside of you.

Derek Lewis was born in Southend-on-Sea in 1947. He was educated at
Westcliff High School for Boys, the College of Estate Management in
London and later at the Diaspora College of Jewish Studies in
Jerusalem. The book begins with anecdotes from his life growing up
in Southend, working in real estate in London and volunteering to
go to Israel at the outbreak of the Six Day War. The volume goes on
to describe his marriage to his late wife Maple Karen, and their
joint search for peace and spirituality through their Jewish
heritage. He lives in London, still works in real estate and
travels as often as he can to the Holy land to spend time with
eight of his twelve grandchildren.
A number of specialists in German studies have joined forces in
this book to paint a comprehensive picture of Germany since
unification. Starting from the 1989 revolution, the book reviews
the fall of East Germany, including a chapter on how the event was
experienced by observers and participants.
The New Germany provides a picture of contemporary Germany from a
variety of perspectives, establishing relationships between recent
political events and society and cultural life. Contributors
include distinguished specialists in German Studies, including John
Sandford, Michael Patterson, Karl Koch and Charles Jeffery. Part 1
sets the scene, discussing the demise of East Germany from
historical perspective and unification in terms of the social
problems that have been provoked. Part 2 covers the new political
structure and Germany's role as a European power as well as the
social, educational and economic problems generated, especially in
the east, by the western takeover of the former GDR. Part 3 is an
extensive section devoted to culture and the arts, with studies of
the media, literature, theatre, film and language.
