This book presents selected papers from the 32nd Eurasia Business
and Economics Society (EBES) Conference - Istanbul. Due to the
COVID-19 restrictions, the conference presentation mode has been
switched to "online/virtual presentation only". The theoretical and
empirical papers gathered here cover diverse areas of business,
economics and finance in various geographic regions, including not
only topics from HR, management, finance, marketing but also
contributions on public economics, political economy and regional
studies.
This volume provides an overview of the biochemical
characterization, structure-function studies, proteomics,
bioinformatics, molecular biology, transcriptomics and genomics of
various spider species. The book also covers our current knowledge
of venom components, toxins and their modes of action. The first
section of Spider Venom includes contributions regarding the wide
diversity of spider venom components and depicts some of their
biological effects (antimicrobial, ion channel modulators,
insecticides, this includes peptide and non-peptide toxins), and
emphasizes spiders of public health importance. The second section
covers transcriptomes, proteomes (and peptidomics), bioinformatics
and molecular dynamics. The last section describes antimicrobial,
insecticidal toxins, envenomation and the medical potential of
spider venoms. Spider venoms are a great and extensive source of
bioactive compounds, and as such form a boundless and bountiful
area awaiting discovery. It is by virtue of dedicated scientists
that new toxins are discovered and that new insights arise, leading
the way towards the investigation of their pharmacological effects,
and hopefully, as a consequence, arriving at the discovery of venom
components as new drug candidates.

This book offers a comprehensible overview of Big Data
Preprocessing, which includes a formal description of each problem.
It also focuses on the most relevant proposed solutions. This book
illustrates actual implementations of algorithms that helps the
reader deal with these problems. This book stresses the gap that
exists between big, raw data and the requirements of quality data
that businesses are demanding. This is called Smart Data, and to
achieve Smart Data the preprocessing is a key step, where the
imperfections, integration tasks and other processes are carried
out to eliminate superfluous information. The authors present the
concept of Smart Data through data preprocessing in Big Data
scenarios and connect it with the emerging paradigms of IoT and
edge computing, where the end points generate Smart Data without
completely relying on the cloud. Finally, this book provides some
novel areas of study that are gathering a deeper attention on the
Big Data preprocessing. Specifically, it considers the relation
with Deep Learning (as of a technique that also relies in large
volumes of data), the difficulty of finding the appropriate
selection and concatenation of preprocessing techniques applied and
some other open problems. Practitioners and data scientists who
work in this field, and want to introduce themselves to
preprocessing in large data volume scenarios will want to purchase
this book. Researchers that work in this field, who want to know
which algorithms are currently implemented to help their
investigations, may also be interested in this book.
Due to the fact that Restless Legs Syndrome/Willis-Ekbom Disease is
usually a chronic condition, this book aims to provide physicians
with the necessary tools for the long-term management of patients
with RLS. The first part of the book addresses the various
comorbidities and long-term consequences of RLS on life quality,
sleep, cognitive, psychiatric and cardiovascular systems, while the
second part focuses on the management of long-term treatment and
the drug-induced complications in primary RLS and in special
populations. Written by experts in the field, this practical
resource offers a high-quality, long-term management of RLS for
neurologists, sleep clinicians, pulmonologists and other healthcare
professionals.
Gender, Sexuality and Islam in Contemporary Indonesia explores
gender, sexuality and religion in contemporary Indonesia. It is the
first book-length analysis of the experiences of queer Muslims in
Indonesia, the largest Muslim country and the world’s fourth most
populous nation, as well as the first monograph exploring the
voices of their allies vis-Ã -vis the role of Indonesian
progressive Islam and Islam Nusantara. An ethnographic study based
on semi-structured in-depth interviews, participant observation and
media analysis, the book analyses how queer Indonesian Muslims come
to, and navigate, their gender, sexual and religious subjectivities
and subject positions, beliefs and practices. This is done by
paying attention to their interactions with family, education,
media, and peers. It also investigates the emergence of queer
religious geographies through the case of an annual camp leading to
alternative discussions on gender, sexuality, and religion
impacting processes of subjectivity formation among participants.
The author draws on recent scholarship that attends to ‘agency’
not merely as a synonym for resistance but also as a modality of
action to examine the rise of queer religious agentic systems
through the everyday practices of queer Muslims. Finally, the book
explores the background of the allies of queer Muslims who have
come to develop queer-inclusive strategies from within Islam by
considering the processes that shaped their advocacy and the role
of Islam Nusantara. The book reflects on the critical role of Islam
for gender and sexual minorities in Indonesia. Presenting the
voices, practices and activism of present-day Indonesians to
explore the position of Islam as a source of emotional strength,
guidance, and social support, this book will be of interest to
researchers in the fields of Gender and Sexuality Studies,
Religious Studies, Asian Studies and Southeast Asian Studies,
Islamic Studies and Queer Anthropology.
