Sustainability has become an unavoidable topic in modern society.
In order for sustainable development to be fully achieved, it must
be integrated into the planning and measurement systems of business
enterprises. Green Initiatives for Business Sustainability and
Value Creation is an essential reference source including the most
recent scholarly research on the development and application of
green business models for contemporary organizations, with a focus
on possible contexts and constructs of closed loop supply chain
management. Featuring extensive coverage on topics such as
consumption behavior, political economy, and structural modeling,
this book is ideally designed for academicians, researchers, and
professionals seeking current research on the importance of
strategic green business practices.
Recently, the use of statistical tools, methodologies, and models
in human resource management (HRM) has increased because of human
resources (HR) analytics and predictive HR decision making. To
utilize these technological tools, HR managers and students must
increase their knowledge of the resources' optimum application.
Statistical Tools and Analysis in Human Resources Management is a
critical scholarly resource that presents in-depth details on the
application of statistics in every sphere of HR functions for
optimal decision-making and analytical solutions. Featuring
coverage on a broad range of topics such as leadership, industrial
relations, training and development, and diversity management, this
book is geared towards managers, professionals, upper-level
students, administrators, and researchers seeking current
information on the integration of HRM technologies.
This book describes the latest advances in intelligent techniques
such as fuzzy logic, neural networks, and optimization algorithms,
and their relevance in building intelligent information systems in
combination with applied mathematics. The authors also outline the
applications of these systems in areas like intelligent control and
robotics, pattern recognition, medical diagnosis, time series
prediction, and optimization of complex problems. By sharing fresh
ideas and identifying new targets/problems it offers young
researchers and students new directions for their future research.
The book is intended for readers from mathematics and computer
science, in particular professors and students working on theory
and applications of intelligent systems for real-world
applications.
This book contains select papers presented at the 3rd International
Conference on Engineering Mathematics and Computing (ICEMC 2020),
held at the Haldia Institute of Technology, Purba Midnapur, West
Bengal, India, from 5-7 February 2020. The book discusses new
developments and advances in the areas of neural networks,
connectionist systems, genetic algorithms, evolutionary
computation, artificial intelligence, cellular automata,
self-organizing systems, soft computing, fuzzy systems, hybrid
intelligent systems, etc. The book, containing 19 chapters, is
useful to the researchers, scholars, and practising engineers as
well as graduate students of engineering and applied sciences.
Pericyclic Chemistry: Orbital Mechanisms and Stereochemistry is a
complete guide to the topic that is ideal for graduate students,
advanced undergraduate students and researchers in organic
chemistry. An introduction to molecular orbital theory and relevant
stereochemical concepts is provided as background, with all four
classes of pericyclic reactions discussed and illustrated with
orbital picture representations. Also included are chapters on
cycloadditions, the most versatile class, and electrocyclic
reactions, sigmatropic rearrangements and group transfer reactions.
A separate chapter on the construction of correlation diagrams is
also included, emphasizing a practical, hands on approach. Author
Dipak Kumar Mandal brings over 30 years of teaching experience to
the topic and illuminates pericyclic chemistry with a clear and
fresh perspective.

Stereochemistry and Organic Reactions: Conformation, Configuration,
Stereoelectronic Effects and Asymmetric Synthesis provides coverage
on the stereochemistry of reactions of all mechanistic types,
ranging from ionic, pericyclic and transition metal-catalyzed to
radical and photochemical. Chapters cover acyclic molecules, cyclic
molecules, the stereochemistry of organic reactions, the
perturbation molecular orbital theory for the origin of
stereoelectronic effects, and an introduction to the principles of
stereoselectivity and hierarchical levels of asymmetric synthesis.
Each chapter includes problems that reinforce main themes, making
it valuable to students, teachers and researchers working in
organic, biological and medicinal chemistry, as well as biologists,
pharmacologists, polymer chemists and chemists.
The book focuses on change and development as organizational
phenomena. The entire text is divided into 5 sections viz.,
Understanding Organizational Processes and Change, Management of
Change, Nature of Organizational Development, OD Interventions and
Strategies, and Contemporary Issues in OD, as the concluding part.
With a strong conceptual foundation, the book takes the readers
through the entire processes and stages of change as seen and
experienced worldwide. The main strength of the book lies in its
exhaustive treatment to a wide array of topics along with various
exhibits on change management in Indian and global organizations.
The role of leadership, organizational culture and technology as
integral parts of any change initiative are dealt with in detail.
Later part of the book covers various OD models and tools, change
management strategies and contemporary issues such as diversity
management. The language is simple and enhances learning for the
reader with various snapshots of different stages/levels of change
and OD at organizations worldwide. The book is aimed at MBA
students who specialize in HR and Strategy areas. Industry
practitioners and change consultants will also benefit greatly with
the title.
A collection of Buddhist mystic songs entitled, 'Caryacarya
Viniscaya' or 'Caryagitikosa' is still being considered as the
first literary composition in the Bengali Language. These songs
were accidentally discovered from Nepal by Mr. Haraprasad Sastri
during 1907. After about 56 years following that sensational
discovery of Mr. Haraprasad Sastri, almost in the same accidental
manner, Professor Sasi Bhushan Dasgupta could discover some more
Buddhist mystic songs from Nepal during 1963. In order to
distinguish the newly discovered Carya-songs from their older
counterparts, Professor Sasibhusan Dasgupta had himself given his
collections, the title of 'Nava Cary pada' or 'New Cary pada.'
