This book constitutes revised selected papers from the 8th International Workshop on Enterprise Applications, Markets and Services in the Finance Industry, FinanceCom 2016, held in Frankfurt, Germany, in December 2016. The 2016 workshop especially focused on "The Analytics Revolution in Finance" and brought together leading academics from a broad range of disciplines, including computer science, business studies, media technology and behavioral science, to discuss recent advances in their respective fields. The 9 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 13 submissions.

The Grid computing concept, which allows users to integrate administratively and g- graphically dispersed computing resources, has been gaining traction in a number of application areas during the past few years. By interconnecting many - heterogeneous, though usually virtualized - computing resources, virtual computer centers or superc- puters can be created, providing a seamless supply of computing resources. Grid comp- ing provides benefits not only for scientific computing (e.g., SETI@home, which interconnects one million computers across 226 countries with a total processing power of 711 TFLOPS) but also in a commercial environment. It is projected that computing Grids can lower the total IT costs of businesses by 30%. The report "Grid Computing: A Vertical Market Perspective 2005-2010" (by The Insight Research Corporation) estimates an increase of worldwide Grid spending from $714.9 million in 2005 to approximately $19.2 billion in 2010. One of the most prominent activities in academia is the EGEE project being funded with 30 MEuro by the European Commission. EGEE brings together researchers from over 27 countries with the common aim of developing a service Grid infrastructure, which is suited for scientific computing with very high demand for processing power.

1. 1 Die Arbeit def Berichtsgruppe VI 1. 1. 1 Die Ausgangslage Die 1991 auf Empfehlung des Wissenschaftsrates gegriindete Kommission ftir die Erforschung des sozialen und politischen Wandels in den neuen Bun- desHindern e. V. (KSPW) solI vor allem den TransformationsprozeB in den neuen Bundesliindern erforschen und die Entwicklung der Sozialwissen- schaften im engeren Sinne in den neuen Bundesliindern fOrdern ( 1 Abs. 1 der Satzung). Diese Aufgabe ist die KSPW in einer ersten Forschungs- und Forderphase (1992) durch die Vergabe, Betreuung und Veroffentlichung von 150 sog. Kurzstudien, d. h. kleiner empirischer Projekte, angegangen. In einer zweiten Phase (1993 bis 1994) wurden 60 groBere Projekte erarbeitet. In der dritten Forschungs- und Forderphase (1994 bis 1996) wurden sechs zusammenfassende thematische Berichte tiber den TransformationsprozeB durch jeweils eigene Berichtsgruppen erarbeitet. Der ursprtinglich vorgese- hene AbschluBtermin (31. 12. 1996) muBte auf den 30. 6. 1996 vorverlegt wer- den. 1. 1. 2 Die Berichtsgruppe im Rahmen der Arbeit der KSPW In den ersten beiden Forderphasen wurden - entsprechend der sozialwissen- schaftlichen Ausrichtung der KSPW - Fragen der Umgestaltung der Rechts- ordnung nur am Rande angesprochen. Es erwies sich jedoch, daB die nor- mativen und institutionellen Probleme des Umwandlungprozesses eine er- hebliche Bedeutung haben, und sie daher nicht ausgeklammert werden kon- nen. Dieser Erkenntnis folgend wurde 1993 beschlossen, mit den normativen und institutionellen Fragen der Umwandlung der Arbeits- und Sozialord- nung eine eigene Berichtsgruppe zu betrauen. Die Berichtsgruppe hat sich Anfang 1994 zusammengefunden, ihr Arbeitskonzept ist am 29. 4.

Inhaltlich unveranderte Neuauflage. Das POS-Marketing hat meist nicht den Stellenwert, der fur eine langfristige Starkung der Marke am Point-of-Sale notwendig ist unverstandlich angesichts stagnierender Markte, niedriger Profit-Raten und hoher Kaufentscheidungsrate direkt am Point-of-Sale. Die Informationsflut erschwert eine Verankerung von Werbebotschaften. Viele Handelsmarken haben sich selbst zu einer Marke entwickelt und werden haufig in hochwertigen Verkaufszonen angeboten. Preisaktionen der Handelsunternehmen haben die Kunden zu Rabattjagern erzogen, der trotzdem nicht mehr kauft. Dadurch schrumpfen die Gewinne bei Handel und Herstellern, obwohl Markenartikel fur den Konsumenten nach wie vor zentral sind. Fur eine Win-win-Situation mussen Marke, Qualitat und Wertschopfung fur Handel und Hersteller wieder in den Fokus rucken. Das Erfolgsrezept heisst POS-Marketing. Der Erfolg steht und fallt mit der Fahigkeit, die Starken des Handels mit denen des Herstellers zu verknupfen, der Verbraucher steht fur beide im Mittelpunkt. POS-Marketing erhoht die Erfolgsrate am POS sowie die Wertschopfung langfristig. Ein Buch fur Marketing-Verantwortliche, Wirtschaftsstrategen, Handler sowie alle am Thema Interessierten
