Offers step-by-step expert advice that empowers women to understand
and overcome the conflicts they face at work with coworkers and
managers. Are you being harassed? Micromanaged? Or just plain
annoyed by your gum-chewing, music-playing, lunch-stealing
coworker? Are you ready to blow this popsicle stand and move on to
a new job? Then let this book guide you through this process.
Beginning with 15 common workplace personalities that you have
likely encountered, this book helps you to diagnose your situation,
and provides empowering strategies for dealing with this situation
and preventing future disputes. Based on the latest research in the
dispute resolution field, and decades of workplace mediation
experience, these stories are based on real-life examples (though
names have been changed to protect those who should be ashamed of
themselves). Women are finally being given the training and
opportunities to succeed in the workplace, but societal norms are
still in the stone-age. This book offers concrete suggestions for
women to determine their boundaries and strategies for reinforcing
those boundaries. Women shouldn’t have to choose between being a
baby or a bully. Women have amazing empathic and social skills—so
why not build on those skills, armed with years of research and
ideas, to create the career you have worked for? Perhaps it’s not
just one mansplainer, or one frustrating coworker, but a whole
department? Managerial style? Systemic issues? A toxic workplace
that is in need of some major rebranding? This book is aimed at the
frustrated employee, manager, conflict resolution practitioner, and
HR office. There are simple skills to empower any employee. For the
management team, learn how to design an effective training,
identify red flags, triage employee concerns, and build a healthy
workplace. As impossible as that may sound right now, it actually
is achievable with some practical suggestions and a bit of work. So
buckle up, grab some popcorn, and prepare for some great stories
that will help you to take control of your worklife. This is a
light-hearted guide for the heavy-hearted employee. This is the
only book to take decades of conflict research and workplace
examples and brings them to the hands of those who need this
information: the workers going through difficult conflicts. The
purpose of this book is to empower women in a frustrating office to
not just understand the conflict but give them the tools to grow
through it. This book takes the numerous academic studies about
resolving workplace conflict, as well as experience from the
mediation table, and provides a step-by-step guide for employees to
resolve their own conflict. It is designed to be relatable, drawing
upon numerous personalities, real examples, in a variety of
settings, so that the reader can find comfort in knowing that
others have worked through similar situations. The book is also
humorous, to help ease the anxiety of a tense worker. The goal is
to give the average employee the skills to understand and grow
through their current workplace conflict. 15 frustrating workplace
personalities and situations are described, and then examined from
the female viewpoint or response.
Aboriginal Maritime Landscapes in South Australia reveals the
maritime landscape of a coastal Aboriginal mission, Burgiyana
(Point Pearce), in South Australia, based on the experiences of the
Narungga community. A collaborative initiative with Narungga
peoples and a cross-disciplinary approach have resulted in new
understandings of the maritime history of Australia. Analysis of
the long-term participation of Narungga peoples in Australia's
maritime past, informed by Narungga oral histories, primary
archival research and archaeological fieldwork, delivers insights
into the world of Aboriginal peoples in the post-contact maritime
landscape. This demonstrates that multiple interpretations of
Australia's maritime past exist and provokes a reconsideration of
how the relationship between maritime and Indigenous archaeology is
seen. This book describes the balance ground shaped through the
collaboration, collision and reconciliation of Aboriginal and
non-Aboriginal peoples in Australia. It considers community-based
practices, cohesively recording such areas of importance to
Aboriginal communities as beliefs, knowledges and lived experiences
through a maritime lens, highlighting the presence of Narungga and
Burgiyana peoples in a heretofore Western-dominated maritime
literature. Through its consideration of such themes as maritime
archaeology and Aboriginal history, the book is of value to
scholars in a broad range of disciplines, including archaeology,
anthropology, history and Indigenous studies.
Only clinically oriented volume devoted to poisonous animals and
venoms. Veterinary Zootoxicology provides an excellent overview of
the state of the art in venom research. Clinical problems
encountered in the United States are emphasized, but situations
that occur in other areas of the world are examined as well. The
book describes clinical syndromes caused by poisonous animals and
provides facts, techniques, methodologies, and regimens designed to
improve the clinical management of animals envenomated by other
animals. Veterinary Zootoxicology is ideal for practicing
veterinarians, students, instructors, wildlife biologists, and
others who must know how to evaluate, diagnose, and treat
envenomated animals.
Logically organized by taxonomic groups, this up-to-date text
covers the diagnosis and treatment of all zoo animal species and
free-ranging wildlife, including amphibians, reptiles, birds,

veterinarians. Featuring full-color images, the consistent,
user-friendly format supplies information on each animal's biology,
unique anatomy, special physiology, reproduction, restraint and
handling, housing requirements, nutrition and feeding, surgery and
anesthesia, diagnostics, therapeutics, and diseases. Global
authorship includes multinational contributors who offer expert
information on different species from around the world. "This is a
welcome update to an invaluable reference series; a must-have for
any veterinary professional working largely in the zoo or wildlife
field, and also recommended as a reference text for the library of
any practice seeing unusual species on a regular basis, even if
they already have an earlier volume." Reviewed by: Charlotte Day on

The Classic Case of Alien Abduction Rereleased with a New Afterword
for a New Generation
"Something extraordinary happened to Betty Andreasson. Maybe she
encountered non-human visitors or maybe something even more
strange. Whatever the origin of her experience, her immensely
powerful story awed me. Its rich and provocative imagery will
remain with me forever."
--Whitley Strieber, author of Communion
"The Andreasson Affair" is more than just a classic example of a
close encounter. It is--to use the jargon of ufologists--a case of
such "high strangeness" that even the most open-minded
investigators were at first inclined to dismiss it out of hand. Yet
it has become probably the best documented case of its kind to
date, the subject of an intensive 12-month investigation conducted
for the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) that involved, among other
things, the recording of large quantities of testimony given under
hypnosis, extensive lie detector testing of witnesses, detailed
analysis of corroborative circumstantial evidence, exhaustive
comparison with other such accounts, and much more.
"The Andreasson Affair" includes:
The most detailed description of any UFO abduction
experience.
Betty's precise drawings of her experience.
A supporting foreword to the book by astronomer Dr. J. Allen
Hynek.
Verification of all events associated with Betty's experience.

Imelda Fowler, age 53, is the mother of two and a grandmother of
three children. She is also a National and State Power Lifting
champion (97 lbs. class), holding several records in the United
States. A native of the Philippines, she came to America in 1980,
when she was 20 years old. In the summer of 2004, her appendix
burst and due to a misdiagnoses by a late-night intern, she lay
septic and in excruciating pain for over 14 hours before she was
properly diagnosed and the appropriate surgery performed. During
that surgery and subsequent times thereafter, she died and returned
"home" to a celestial realm of astonishing gardens full of vibrant
"talking" flowers exploding with vivid colors that are impossible
for any mortal language to describe accurately. While in the Spirit
World, she met with family members who had previously "gone to the
other side." Medy stood before the "Grand Council of Heaven" and
even met and embraced the Savior of the World, Jesus Christ. This
book is unique among Near Death Experiences (NDE), as it gives the
reader not only a glimpse of our real home, but answers many of
life's basic questions; "Why do bad things happen to good people,"
"Since Heaven is so beautiful, what is Hell like and where is it -
who goes there and why - is there any escape or hope for the
'damned'?," "How do disembodied spirits travel?," "Why isn't every
NDE the same?," "Will everyone be 'happy' when they die?" Written
in an engaging and fluid style, along with photos and
illustrations, Home and Back Again will inspire and give hope to
those who feel hopeless. Weak knees will be strengthened, hearts
will be healed and tears of happiness shed, grief will be replaced
with wonder and joyful anticipation; but above all, faith and love
for God will be renewed in determined personal resolution, touching
our spirits to make us all want to live better more meaningful and
loving lives.
