This book presents a selection of revised and updated papers presented in September 2018 at the International Conference 'Rethinking the Crime of Aggression: International and Interdisciplinary Perspectives', which was held in Marburg, Germany, and hosted by the International Research and Documentation Centre for War Crimes Trials (ICWC). In light of the activation of the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court concerning the crime of aggression, international experts from various disciplines such as law, history, the social sciences, psychology and economics came together to enhance the understanding of this complex and challenging matter and thereby opened a cross-disciplinary dialogue regarding aggressive war and the crime of aggression: a dialogue that not only addresses the historical genesis of the current situation, the content of the new aggression provisions, their implementation in practice and their possible regulatory effects, but also instigates perspectives for investigating future developments and issues. Stefanie Bock is Professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, International Criminal Law and Comparative Law in the Department of Law at the Philipps University of Marburg in Germany and Co-Director of the International Research and Documentation Centre for War Crimes Trials. Das Pfadfinden als Erziehungs- und Bildungsidee ist uber 100 Jahre alt und heute in mehr als 200 Landern verbreitet. Knoten knupfen, Feuer machen, ein Zeltdorf errichten, den Wald erkunden, auf Fahrt gehen - Kinder und Jugendliche auf der ganzen Welt gestalten ihre Freizeit mit und bei den Pfadfindern. Die padagogischen Grundkonzepte und historischen Wandlungsprozesse dieser weltumspannenden Bewegung wurden jedoch bislang von der Forschung kaum berucksichtigt. Die Autorinnen und Autoren dieses Bandes bundeln mit interdisziplinarem Zugang Wissen und Forschungsergebnisse uber die Pfadfinderbewegung in Deutschland und analysieren die Erziehungs- und Bildungsaktivitaten im Kontext von Lokalitat und Internationalitat. Diverse in its topics and disciplinary approaches, Nuclear Threats, Nuclear Fear and the Cold War of the 1980s makes a fundamental contribution to the emerging historiography of the 1980s as a whole. As of now, the era's nuclear tensions have been addressed by scholars mostly from the standpoint of security studies, focused on the geo-strategic deliberations of political elites and at the level of state policy. Yet nuclear anxieties, as the essays in this volume document, were so pervasive that they profoundly shaped the era's culture, its habits of mind, and its politics, far beyond the domain of policy.

(Text in German) Weit uber die Zeitgeschichte hinaus ist "Sicherheit" in den letzten Jahren zu einem wichtigen Thema der Geschichtswissenschaft geworden. Die historische Forschung hat dabei einen Impuls der Gegenwart aufgenommen. Sie fragt nach den Grunden fur die gestiegene Bedeutung von Sicherheit in modernen Gesellschaften und versucht zugleich, die Dynamiken von Sicherheit in unterschiedlichen, auch weiter zuruckreichenden historischen Kontexten zu analysieren. In einer Verknupfung von politischen, gesellschaftlichen und sozialkulturellen Entwicklungen einerseits sowie historiografischen Tendenzen andererseits behandelt der durch seine eigene Forschung ausgewiesene Verfasser die Grunde fur das wachsende Interesse von Historikern an der Sicherheitsthematik. Es verweist auf Traditionen sicherheitsbezogener Forschung in der Geschichtswissenschaft, beschaftigt sich aber vor allem mit deren Erweiterung (thematisch und konzeptionell). Neue Ansatze der Sicherheitsforschung, darunter das Konzept der "Sicherheitskultur", das des "Sicherheitsdispositivs" und das der "Versicherheitlichung", werden vorgestellt, an konkreten Beispielen entfaltet und auf ihr analytisches Potential befragt. Der Nutzen sozialwissenschaftlicher Theorieangebote wird dabei ebenso eroertert wie der Wert geschichtswissenschaftlicher Untersuchungen fur die Theoriebildung. Brucken schlagt der Autor ferner zu verwandten Forschungsgebieten (Risiko-, Praventions- und Bedrohungsforschung). So liefert das Buch eine grundlegende und problemorientierte Einfuhrung in die Historische Sicherheitsforschung.
