Averi Rain has always been in love with one man. The problem is
he's always loved everyone else. Ian O?Neal has been known for his
reputation with the ladies and has never really cared about any of
them for longer than a one-night stand. He's known Averi since they
were both in high school and had always harmlessly flirted with
her, never really seeing her for the woman she's become. Forced to
spend more time together to help their friend, he begins to see how
sweet and funny she is, not to mention having curves in all the
right places and he sets out to win her heart. Unfortunately for
Ian, a handsome fireman has Averi in his sights and now, for the
first time, Ian has to compete for her affections. A series of
events throws Averi and Ian together giving Averi a glimpse of the
man Ian really is and she likes what she sees, but she also can't
bear the thought of having her heart broken when he moves on to the
next conquest. Will Averi settle for the stability Alex can offer
or will she give her heart to the one man who can break it for
good? Can Ian prove to her that he's worthy of her love or will the
new man in her life steal the future he's set his sights on? Will
Ian find love for the first time or will he be forever... Chasing
Rain?
Cosmetics are substances used to enhance the appearance or scent of
the human body. They are also used for the purposes of cleansing,
beautifying, promoting attractiveness or alternating one's
appearance. Although we call them cosmetics when used by women and
toiletries when used by men, they include skin-care creams, shaving
creams, lotions, powders, shampoos, perfumes, lipsticks, nail
polish, makeup, deodorant, permanent waves, colored contact lenses,
hair colors, hair sprays, gels, and items for dental care. However,
God is not concerned with our physical appearance because these
mortal bodies will one day put on immortality, and the corruptible
will one day put on incorruptible. The Bible depicts us as the
church, the bride of Christ who awaits the bridegroom. He is
concerned with our spiritual nature. He is concerned with our soul.
Can we be trusted with eternity is the question. To be presented on
the Day of Judgment without spot, stain, or wrinkle, we need the
cosmetic application of the Word of God. We need its life-giving
water and blood as revealed in Christ Jesus to cover our confessed
sins. We need it to rid ourselves of the terrible scent of sin. We
need it for daily spiritual cleansing, beautifying, and for
promoting our spiritual attractiveness. In other words, we need it
to change us from glory to glory into the image of Christ. Our Lord
and Savior is soon to return, and we need to be ready to receive
him. This book contains 55 original, revealing and shocking,
Holy-Spirit inspired, thought-provoking, and heartfelt devotionals
written especially for black women-one for each week of the year
(three extra devotionals for Week 52). Each devotional ends with a
prayer box that allows you to personally commit yourselves and to
reflect on the author's experiences and your own in relation to the
Word of God.
How do you measure up spiritually? God likens the human body, that
is, the fleshly body, to the spiritual body, his church. It is the
spiritual body that comprises all of the components and is embodied
in His son, Jesus Christ, the one and only who gave his life, body,
and blood for us. God has given us everything we need not only to
examine fully and know the inner workings of the church body, but
also to gauge the health and condition of our own individual
spiritual walk with Christ. Take the "30-for-30" spiritual
well-being test to see how you measure up. Then use the health plan
and prescriptions God has put in place for reaching and achieving
"near-perfect" spiritual health.
They say that after the age of 35 a woman has a better chance of
getting captured by terrorists than she does of getting married,
especially if she's been married before, especially if she has
children, especially if she's not wealthy, and even more so if
she's a black woman. The author reveals her shocking story that
spans almost five decades. As you read her stories of fact that are
stranger than fiction, you too will anxiously await her explanation
to: "Why I Should Hate Men, But Don't"
