Das Buch befasst sich mit der Arthroskopie des Schultergelenkes und des Subacromialraumes. Sowohl die Diagnostik als auch die derzeitigen Therapiemoglichkeiten werden in einer sehr detaillierten Weise beschrieben. Das Buch beginnt mit der Beschreibung der Anatomie des Schultergelenkes aus arthroskopischer Sicht. Im diagnostischen Teil werden die einzelnen Strukturen sowohl im Glenohumeralgelenksbereich als auch im Subacromialbereich hinsichtlich einer pathologischen Veranderung besprochen und vor allem die Grenzziehung zwischen gesund und pathologisch herausgearbeitet. Der therapeutische Teil beschreibt detailliert die im eigenen Krankenhaus erfolgreich eingesetzten Limbusrefixationsmethoden, die sowohl eine Nahttechnik als auch eine Verschraubungstechnik umfassen, und die Durchfuhrung der arthroskopischen subacromialen Dekompression. Letztere unterscheidet sich sehr wesentlich von den bisher beschriebenen Techniken, da nicht eine rotierende Frase, sondern eine oszillierende Feile zur Knochenresektion verwendet wird.
