Kalakuta Diaries is a personal Narrative of events and characters
that propelled and defined an African Social-political setting in
the heart of Lagos Nigeria. Kalakuta was a creation of an Iconic
rare-breed par excellence, whose enduring legacies has left an
indelible Footprint in the sands of Africa and the Worlds political
times and consciousness. This narrative apart from the well known
battles against the establishment, is also an attempt to emphasise
the roles played by the different characters that shaped the
actions and policies of a Die-hard Pan-Africanist, who had an
uncanny ability to read and predict exactly, outcomes of diverse
political and economic actions of the ruling Elite' years ahead of
most of his fellow countrymen. He dared the high and the mighty,
the military governments and their western collaborators. He sang
his way through the hearts of European and American cities using
his music as a weapon in the demand for fairness, equity and love
and the unity not only for the Black in his home country Nigeria,
but the whole of Africa. That he had like every other human being,
his shortcomings or weakness especially with the opposite sex is
normal and also depicted in this narrative. Suffice to say his
dreams, wishes and aspirations for the African continent and blacks
all over the Diaspora. Interestingly as the reader would find out,
the more potent enemies he had were within his own rank and file.
From kids who carried grudges on behalf of their mother, through
women who desperately wanted to have kids from him, staffs who
secretly aided drug dealers knowing full well that he abhorred the
use of such, up to relatives, staffs and friends who betrayed his
trust. The intention of the writer having being schooled by the
great one himself on issues of truthfulness, sincerity fearlessness
and political foresight is to depict Kalakuta as it really was,
without comas, bias, hard feelings or colouration.

blood supply. It is designed to emphasize the evidenced -based best
practices in transfusion medicine in the developed world to enable
countries in Africa optimise their transfusion service delivery to
their patients.
This book will enable the production of reliable, accurate,
reproducible (best possible care) results that satisfies the
customer's requirements obtained from an accredited, process
oriented, health and safety conscious laboratory that is cost
effectively run (value for money) by qualified, certified and
highly motivated biomedical staff (Joy and pride at work) using
well maintained, validated and quality controlled equipments and
appropriately stored reagents on the right sample drawn from the

fashion to the requesting clinician to enable them render the best
possible evidenced- based medical care to their patients.
This open access book provides an empirical account of the
psychological and social experiences of 3500 African migrants to 6
European countries: Germany, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, France,
and the UK. It discusses the psychosocial motivations for migration
from Africa, who migrates where, and stressful pre- and
post-migration factors affecting the social and psychological
wellbeing of migrants. The book also includes a detailed
exploration of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and
posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) among African migrants.
Addressing and offering solutions to pre- and post-migration
problems in Africa and Europe as well as the problems associated
with the perilous journeys involved, this unique study is a
must-read for anyone interested in cross-cultural psychology and
social science, and particularly in migration and mental health.
The book presents a study of - legal, illegal, and incarcerated -
African immigrants in Germany. Participants responded to a
selection of scales from the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality
Inventory (MMPI-2), the Portrait Value Questionnaire (PVQ) by
Schwartz, and a measure of acculturative stress. Acculturative
stress and German racism emerged as strong predictors of poor
mental health, with problems becoming worse over the years of stay
in Germany. Particularly among 'economic refugees' a precarious job
situation and family fragmentation added grossly to acculturative
stress. As John W. Berry, the nestor of acculturation research puts
it in his epilogue: «What can only help is an increase in basic
hospitality: Making African immigrants welcome in their new home is
needed, not a bulwark Europe.
