Hernando de Alvarado Tezozomoc (Mexico-Tenochtitlan c 1520 y 1530-despues de 1609). Mexico. Era nieto por parte de madre y sobrino-nieto por parte de padre del huey tlatoani mexica, Moctezuma. Se cree que estudio en el Colegio de Santa Cruz de Tlatelolco, aunque no hay pruebas rotundas al respecto. Suele decirse tambien que fue nahuatlato (experto interprete de nahuatl) en la Real Audiencia de Mexico. Sus obras mas conocidas son la presente Cronica mexicana, escrita en castellano hacia 1598, que relata la salida de Aztlan de los aztecas-mexicas y termina con el inicio de la conquista;y la Cronica mexicayotl, compuesta en nahuatl en 1609, que relata las genealogias de los mas altos pipiltin (nobles) mexicas, y exhibe sus meritos y derechos.
