With this second volume of Tattooisme, the frontiers of tattoo art are revisited. The 32 artists participating in this artbook offer a unique journey and a fresh look at the worldwide tattoo art revolution. Tattooisme 2 shows the extensive possibilities of the styles and careers of the artists appearing in this volume--from art nouveau to American old school, from book design to developing clothing brands. We are proud to present them all, from the most well-known, key-figures of the international tattoo scene to the newcomers steeped in culture outside tattooing. That's what Tattooisme is - the door that opens onto a global art inspired by other artistic movements to finally create something new, a unique art, which then influences other creative pools. Over the years the history of art has presented us artistic movements such as Symbolism, Japonism, Cubism, Expressionism, Surrealism and many others. Now we can add Tattooisme, the artistic roots of which feed the tattooists of today and mix with other cultures, whether they are urban, ethnic, modern or ancestral. Tattooisme 2 is the logical result of the creative journey.

Language, writing, and letters are the basis of our communication as human beings -- and calligraphy celebrates the inherent beauty of this need to share and connect. This volume showcases what calligraphy has grown to be in the 21st century, featuring 101 artists from the worlds of graffiti, tattooing, graphic design, painting, illustration, poster art, comics, and more. Their different mediums, styles, and languages, including imaginary ones, show the endless potential and inspiration of turning letters into art. Each artist featured has a brief bio explaining their background and inspirations, examples of their artwork, and an original alphabet. The artists, from 20 countries, share alphabets in vibrant colour and black-and-white, in clarity and in chaos, in pencil on paper and paint on walls. In our digital age, where screens and keyboards have taken over, this ancient art still thrives.
Way before the advent of social networks, the first, and sometimes only, visual contact you may have had with a movie was its poster. To return to this enlightened approach and escape the hard selling, marketing campaigns of today's releases, this book pays tribute to the artists who celebrate the era when cinematographic posters made us dream. Presented by ARTtitude, this collaboration features the contemporary work of 58 different artists from the PosterSpy art community, one of the most influential groups devoted to alternative posters. The nearly 300 posters presented here cover a diverse range of genres and eras, from pop culture favorites like Star Wars and Goonies to the Wes Anderson filmography to horror and sci-fi classics. Each piece reveals intensely creative and detailed representations of films that ask the viewer to see the film in a new way and challenges the visual package included with the original release.
