Dedicated to the memory of the late Professor Zbigniew Oziewicz from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the book consists of papers on a wide variety of topics related to the work of Professor Oziewicz, which were presented at the special conference on Graph-Operads-Logic (GOL 2021), selected through peer review to promote his scientific legacy.Professor Oziewicz was a great enthusiast and supporter of category theory and its applications in physics, as well as in various areas of mathematics (topology, noncommutative geometry, etc.). In particular, he made significant contributions to the theory of Frobenius algebras, which now are becoming more important due to their connection with topological quantum field theories that are used in mathematical physics and in quantum topology. Professor Oziewicz was a great and very generous teacher, who immersed his students in the beautiful ideas of category theory as well as mathematical physics and computation. It was his idea to start a series of conferences under the title Graphs-Operads-Logic, most of them held in Mexico, with some of them in the USA, which were a great platform to discuss various ideas connected with category theory and its various applications, and to make friends with other scientists. Despite his passing, the GOL 2021 conference is included in this series to pay tribute to his many contributions to diverse areas of science.The book is laid out in twelve main topics where we can find relevant works from distinguished experts.

Este libro ofrece un analisis variacionista de la expresion verbal de lo futuro en el espanol de la comunidad de habla bilingue castellano-catalan de Valencia. Se investigan tres variantes: futuro morfologico, futuro perifrastico y presente prospectivo, y los resultados se comparan con los obtenidos en otras comunidades monolingues y bilingues del ambito hispanico. Junto a este estudio comparativo que permite conocer el paradigma alternante en el espanol de ambos lados del Atlantico, la obra aporta nuevos modelos para el tratamiento estadistico de los datos. Frente al programa empleado tradicionalmente en el Variacionismo, Goldvarb, se muestran las ventajas de Rbrul y del paquete SPSS; entre ellas, eliminar los knock-out y realizar analisis de regresion logistica multinomial. Tras identificar los factores internos y externos que estimulan cada marca temporal de futuro, se confirma el cambio en marcha favorable al futuro perifrastico y se corrobora el proceso lento de una doble gramaticalizacion: valor modal del futuro morfologico y valor temporal del futuro perifrastico.

This is the first book for atomic spectroscopists to present the basic principles of experimental designs, optimization and multivariate regression. Multivariate regression is a valuable statistical method for handling complex problems (such as spectral and chemical interferences) which arise during atomic spectrometry. However, the technique is underused as most spectroscopists do not have time to study the often complex literature on the subject. This practical introduction uses conceptual explanations and worked examples to give readers a clear understanding of the technique. Mathematics is kept to a minimum but, when required, is kept at a basic level. Practical considerations, interpretations and troubleshooting are emphasized and literature surveys are included to guide the reader to further work. The same dataset is used for all chapters dealing with calibration to demonstrate the differences between the different methodologies.
