From the November 1920 issue of the classic pulp magazine "The Blue

This is one of the most ancient and celebrated novels of China.
Scholars agree that it was written under the Yuan Dynasty,
1277-1348. The author is known only as "Ming-tsiao Chong-jen,
signifying literally "The Medium of the Celebrated Doctrine." This
edition has been translated from the Chinese by George Soulie de
Morant and done into English by H. Bedford-Jones.
H. Bedford-Jones, the "King of the Pulps," was among the most
prolific and talented of the fiction writers for the pulp magazines
of the 20th Century. He specialized in adventure, and his
