Sparks fly when a competitive figure skater and hockey team captain are forced to share a rink. Anastasia Allen has worked her entire life for a shot at Team USA. It looks like everything is going according to plan when she gets a full scholarship to the University of California, Maple Hills and lands a place on their competitive figure skating team. Nothing will stand in her way, not even the captain of the hockey team, Nate Hawkins. Nate's focus as team captain is on keeping his team on the ice. Which is tricky when a facilities mishap means they are forced to share a rink with the figure skating team-including Anastasia, who clearly can't stand him. But when Anastasia's skating partner faces an uncertain future, she may have to look to Nate to take her shot. Sparks fly, but Anastasia isn't worried... because she could never like a hockey player, right?
The new novel from the #1 Sunday Times bestselling author of Icebreaker
and Wildfire...
The new novel from the bestselling author of Icebreaker.... When Russ and Aurora cross paths at a university party, a drinking game ends with them spending the night together. The next day, Aurora slips away before Russ learns her full name. This anonymity ends when they both turn up to their first day of work as camp counsellors. A job they had both chosen to escape Maple Hills for the summer. Given their history, there’s still an obvious tension between the two but the camp has a strict “no staff fraternizing” rule. Russ doesn’t want to risk heading home early but Aurora has never been one for rules. As things heat up, they'll have to resist or risk starting something they just can’t stop.
All Clara Davenport has ever wanted to do is climb the ladder at Davenport Innovation Creative. Everything was going to plan until the company was accused of stealing a doll design from an independent toy maker. With a promotion dangled in front of her, Clara is tasked with charming the locals of the small town of Fraser Falls and solving the PR nightmare by any means necessary. Jack Kelly would happily never hear the name Davenport ever again. So, when Clara, with her long legs and dazzling smile, prances into town hoping to convince them that her company is not the enemy, Jack is determined not to be fooled by Davenport twice. Clara's plan to win over the community should have been easy, but she didn't account for Jack getting in her way, and under her skin, at every turn. And when the tension between them starts to boil over, she realises that beneath his frosty demeanour lies the key to the town's heart - and maybe her own.
The book, Held In Heaven's Hand, is written to be of comfort to families and children who deal with death. It is specially geared to be a resource of comfort to those in grief. This book is for children who have faced abuse of any kind. It is written in a gentle manner so children will understand that God does not want them to be hurt. It is also geared to help those who may come into contact with an abused child. The book will touch your heart and remind you that children are a gift from God. It will be a resource to help a child understand their feelings about what happened to them and to know that God loves them and will be a help to families and ministers who help families in these situations.
This story was inspired because of a family that is close to me. They dealt with a terminal illness. I believe it is vital that we reach out to families who deal with such life changing circumstances with love, compassion and hope. There are no specific reasons or answers to those who have children or family members who are ill but I believe there is always hope. We have a loving God who provides angels to watch over us. This story does not end in sadness but offers hope and comfort to families in need of such hope and comfort. It also provides an assurance for those who are ill of God's love and of the angels that are beside you in the darkest of the night and in the sunlight of the noon day. Penned with much love, Hannah Grace.
