His quest led to psychiatry, the Gurdjieff Work, Sufism, energetic healing, Shamanism and astrology. He gives vignettes of 35 Nobel Laureates, he earned a degree, he has known and tells about his avocations-architecture, telescope-making, printing, calligraphy and typography, and computers. He became a Dervish in Iran in 1968. After retirement, he opened a bookstore in New York specializing in Islam and the Middle East.
