Bunny Boy is a sweet and funny baby rabbit who is fascinated by the
snake's ability to shed his skin. Bunny Boy also wants to be able
to get a new skin, so he teams up with Dumpy the baby Elephant and
together they go around the Kruger National Park looking for
someone to change coats with, only to discover that it is far wiser
for one to come to terms with the skin one is born with, than to
try to be like someone else.
In this third volume of African animal tales, written by Betty
Misheiker and illustrated by Ilona Suschitzky, Mafuta, the
friendliest and kindest baby Hippo in the Game Park, longs to
befriend the baby Kudu and Impala, but in return they reject his
friendly approaches and tease him insultingly. Mafuta is determined
not to allow their rudeness to get to him and in the end it is
Mafuta who saves them proving that he is not only brave, loyal and
responsible, but that it doesn't matter what one looks like on the
outside, it is how you behave that really counts.
'Chubby Roars the Loudest Roar' is the first story in the African
Tales series. It is about a bright little lion-cub called Chubby
who, instead of practicing his roar like his Daddy, prefers to go
wandering off discovering the far more interesting things that
other animals get up to, causing his parents no end of annoyance.
In the end Chubby, with the help of his Hippo friend, Mafuta,
surprises everyone.
Stranger in the Forest is the second volume of the African Tales
Series, written by Betty Misheiker. It tells the story of a fierce
Big Lion who is very annoyed at the presence of a strangely
mysterious creature who has trespassed into his territory. After
sending all his animals to discover exactly who has had the nerve
to come into their world, he gets no clear answer until in a
temper, he goes to discover exactly who the intruder is. It is a
charming and funny story which will enchant children and adults of
all ages.
This fourth volume in the Animal Tales series is another of Betty
Misheiker's charming stories about animal behaviour, which also
explores bravery and the importance of clear thinking, for
children. When faced with an unexpected danger, Nyati, the baby
buffalo who is the hero of this story, remembers everything about
being a courageous and clever buffalo that his uncle Boo, the
powerful and wise old buffalo, who has always kept his herd out of
danger, had taught him. Nyati not only shows his astuteness but he
also manages to protect his closest friends from imminent danger.

lied leren kinderen mak-kelijker Engels.
