Dieser Band dokumentiert eine Reihe von Beiträgen der VII. Internationalen wissenschaftlichen Konferenz zur Schulreform und Lehrerbildung. Das Konferenzthema des Jahres 2000 lautete Wissenschaft - Studium - Schule. Zu dieser Thematik diskutierten in Vilnius mehr als 300 praktizierende Pädagogen, Wissenschaftler und Mitglieder von Bildungsorganisationen aus Litauen, Ungarn, Belgien, Deutschland, Estland, Holland, Lettland, Polen, Russland, Weißrussland und USA. Behandelt wurden die wichtigsten aktuell anstehenden Fragen, so die schnellere Reformierung des Studiums durch Neuorientierung der Wissenschaft und deren Auswirkung auf die Bildungsreform und Qualität der Ausbildung. In diesem Band wird eine Präsentation sowohl von Untersuchungen im Bildungsbereich, zum Stand der Schulreform und zu Initiativen in Wissenschaft und Studium gegeben. So gibt es Beiträge zur Philosophie, Gentechnologie, Anthropologie, Kommunikationstraining bis hin zu konkreten Schulbeispielen. Jeder einzelne (Fach-)bereich ist mehr oder weniger intendiert durch die Entwicklung neuer Wissensstandards. Diese implizieren wiederum neue Lehr- und Lernmethoden, welche wiederum zu neuen Arbeits- und Interaktionsformen führen. Es ist ein Wirkungskreis, der sich gegenseitig beeinflusst und befruchtet.

The meeting topic of the year 2003 was: Combination of the university and high school education: Tradition and change represented in the education and education area, abbreviated under consideration of the education of the school including the general didactics and subject didactics « Innovation by Education. To this topic practicing educationalists, scientists and members of education organizers, discussed in Vilnius (Lithuania). The most important currently upcoming questions, as faster reformers of the studies and the quality of education were treated with a view to the reorientation to the requests of the international standards.
