This book gathers papers that are centered on the theory and practice of a wide variety of advanced technologies. They cover the latest developments in computing, networking, information technology, robotics, complex systems, communications, energy, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, geodesy, and other subjects. These papers were selected for presentation at the 12th annual conference Days of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), which was scheduled to be held in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina in June 2020 but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, in light of the high quality of the submissions, BHAAAS' technical and natural sciences division decided to create this special book despite the postponement. It includes the scientific outcomes and results of the conference 12th Day of Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Art and Sciences held in Mostar, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, June 24-27, 2021. The latest developments in various fields of engineering have been presented through various papers in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computing, electrical and electronics engineering, and others. A new session, Sustainable Urban Development: Designing Smart, Inclusive and Resilient Cities, was organized, enabling experts in this field to exchange their knowledge and expertise.

This volume contains the proceedings of the conference on Manifolds, $K$-Theory, and Related Topics, held from June 23-27, 2014, in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The articles contained in this volume are a collection of research papers featuring recent advances in homotopy theory, $K$-theory, and their applications to manifolds. Topics covered include homotopy and manifold calculus, structured spectra, and their applications to group theory and the geometry of manifolds. This volume is a tribute to the influence of Tom Goodwillie in these fields.

Graduate students and researchers alike will benefit from this treatment of classical and modern topics in homotopy theory of topological spaces with an emphasis on cubical diagrams. The book contains 300 examples and provides detailed explanations of many fundamental results. Part I focuses on foundational material on homotopy theory, viewed through the lens of cubical diagrams: fibrations and cofibrations, homotopy pullbacks and pushouts, and the Blakers-Massey Theorem. Part II includes a brief example-driven introduction to categories, limits and colimits, an accessible account of homotopy limits and colimits of diagrams of spaces, and a treatment of cosimplicial spaces. The book finishes with applications to some exciting new topics that use cubical diagrams: an overview of two versions of calculus of functors and an account of recent developments in the study of the topology of spaces of knots.
