This work traces the history and background of the once great
American consumer electronics manufacturing industry, an industry
that was plagued and finally destroyed by an American-Japanese
cartel subverting enforcement of our traditional trade laws. The
work is not a Japan-bashing diatribe, but a call for changes in
Washington, and a return to free trade in our domestic and foreign
commerce.
"The Monster Pig" is a story of a young boy's imagination and
his uncle's exaggeration. It will lead you down a path of his
imagination, right to the pen of the monster pig.
"A Ride on the Silver" tells the tale of an old man's
experiences as a young boy, starting a summer lawn-mowing business.
He recalls the work, the sweat, the tears-and a true and lasting
friendship.
"The Radio" is the story of a young girl ripped from her friends
in a small town, only to find a series of heartwarming events
unfolding in her new home.
"The Leather Sandals" shares a familary story. Everybody knows
how the story of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ evolved. This is
another side of the account, purely fictional but Christian in
intent, of how a blind sandal maker becomes a great shepherd.
"The Babyl Stone" takes you on a journey through time, as you
follow the stone from the beginning of civilization to possibly the
end of time.
This edited volume-the first book devoted to the topic of contract
cheating-brings together the perspectives of leading scholars
presenting novel research. Contract cheating describes the
outsourcing of students' assessments to third parties such that the
assignments or exams students submit are not their own work. While
research in this area has grown over the past five years, the
phenomenon has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Themes
addressed in this book include the definition of contract cheating,
its prevalence in higher education, and what motivates students to
engage in it. Chapter authors also consider various interventions
that can be used to address contract cheating's threat to academic
integrity in higher education including: assessment practice,
education, detection strategies, policy design, and legal
interventions.

pharmacological discipline with important ties to academia,
industry and regulatory authorities. It provides readers with a
definitive collection of topics containing essential information on
the latest industry guidelines and overviews current and
breakthrough topics in both functional and molecular pharmacology.
An additional novelty of the book is that it constitutes academic,
pharmaceutical and biotechnology perspectives for Safety
Pharmacology issues. Each chapter is written by an expert in the
area and includes not only a fundamental background regarding the
topic but also detailed descriptions of currently accepted,
validated models and methods as well as innovative methodologies
used in drug discovery.

This volume sets out to consider a range of cardiac diseases for
which drugs may play a therapeutic role by virtue of their effects
on aspects of the immune system. The book reviews diseases of the
heart which may involve an immunopharmacological component, and
methods and techniques for the study of physiological and
biochemical functions in the heart. An important focus is the
immunopharmacology of the coronary vascular endothelium and the
role of cellular and biochemical components of the immune system in
the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. The content also includes a
review of the use of immunologically relevant agents in the setting
of cardiac transplantation from aclinical perspective.
Immunotherapy has a definite role to play in cardiology to a
greater or lesser extent than other forms of intervention,
depending on the type of cardiac disease. Immunopharmacology of the
Heart aims to identify and clarify this role and points to
potential developments of the future. Immunopharmacology of the
Heart is a volume for the SYSTEMS theme of The Handbook of
Pharmacology. In common with all other volumes it contains
standardized illustrations and terms/abbreviations (glossaries of
illustrations and terms published at the back of the volume). Other
topics covered include: Leukocytes and their role in ischaemic
heart disease. Complement activation. Sudden cardiac death. The
stunned myocardium and reperfusion injury.
Documentary directed by Julien Temple about English guitarist and
songwriter Wilko Johnson, who, in 2013, was diagnosed with
supposedly inoperable pancreatic cancer. Wilko, who rose to fame
during the 1970s with pub rockers Dr Feelgood, speaks to the
film-maker candidly about his illness and the sense of elation he
felt for the world around him upon becoming aware of his impending
death. The film captures the guitarist as he begins working on a
long talked about project with The Who's Roger Daltrey and his
experiences on what he believes will be his farewell tour.

A haunted asylum? Like really haunted, with ghosts and poltergeists
and who knows what else? No thank you. Rusty wanted no parts of
that, with a side of not in a million years. But when the fun
adventure they'd planned for so long turns into a mission to help a
new friend, he has no choice. Rusty and all his friends find
themselves trapped in a terrifying fight for their lives. And their
souls too. Venturing into the asylum was supposed to be a good
time; learning what waited for them inside and all they'd need to
do to get out... not so much. Unleashing the past was a mistake. A
big, fat, terrible mistake. But terribly necessary, to save
everyone and everything. And so much more. Now, Rusty and his pack
can only hope they live long enough to fix it all.
