surroundings of cancer cells-in cancer development, progression,
and metastasis has revolutionized the fields of cancer biology as
well as cancer therapeutics. This book provides a comprehensive
overview of this rapidly-evolving field including tumor stroma
biology, therapeutic targets, molecular imaging, and advanced tumor
stroma in vitro models. The book will serve as a handbook for

This book embodies the potentials of nanobiotechnology-based water
treatment techniques to provide a solid understanding of the
subjects. Starting with a refresher of the basic conventional
technologies which are now been integrated with nanomaterials for
an efficient, viable, and eco-friendly treatment of contaminated
water. The book covers various physical, chemical, and hybrid
methods of nanobiomaterial synthesis and their fabrication for
characterizing existing techniques. The book gives special
attention to those nanotechnology-based approaches that promise
easier, faster, and cheaper processes in contaminants monitoring
and their treatment. Several case studies explain in an easy to
understand format how employing nanobiomaterials as an indicator
and analytical tool will enable students to learn about cleaning up
the environment.
The book is a collection of essays woven around the contours of the
growth of the dalit movement, the crusade undertaken by the dalit
icons for the cause of dalit emancipation and the burning issues
that have cropped up before the dalits. These issues are at the
crux of very lively debates that are taking place in contemporary
India. Politics of exclusion and identity have restricted the
amalgamation of dalits into the national mainstream to a certain
extent and despite more than 60 years of independence, they are
dependent on reservation as their major mobilisation plank. The new
economic reforms have led to reduction in the scope and breadth of
reservation and lessened the role of the state to the detriment of
majority of the dalit population. The challenges posed to the dalit
movement by the mandalites and the Hindutva forces have also been
discussed in the book. Dalit symbolism and the repercussions of
such acts on overall polity, position of the dalits in rural India
& their acute deprivation from land assets and inter squabbles
among them have also been highlighted in this book. The
presentation style is lucid and simple so as to enable even
ordinary readers to understand the topics. One hopes that the book
will be found to be useful for the students of Indian polity.

Over the last many year, ion beam implantation/irradiation has
played an important role in fundamental studies and in development
of new technologies as well. The present book includes the work
exploring the use of ion beams in nanotechnology. Ion beam
irradiation has become an unique tool for fabricating and
engineering the nanostructures not only at the surface but also
embedded in the matrix. This work includes the use of ion beams
ranging from low energy (keV) to high energy (MeV)to fabricate and
engineering the properties of metal nanopartices embedded in
polymer matrix. This book, thus, provides the basic understanding
of ion beam interaction with materials, chemical and physical
modifications of materials, synthesis of nanopartices and tailoring
of their properties in thin films.
All type of tasting is done in Quality control department of
Pharmaceutical industries are necessary as they play an important
role in defining the quality of product manufacturing in
pharmaceutical industries. The different type of tasting criteria
are define in quality control labs. The various technique are used
in quality control labs like H.P.L.C., G.C, spectrophotometer etc.
HPLC are most widely used technique in Quality control labs.
About Book: This book is based on a scientific research study
conducted to determine the Comparative Effects of Bhramari and
Surya Bhedan Pranayama on Balance Abilities (static and dynamic).
Thirty students from Banaras Hindu University were selected as
subjects for this study. The age of the subjects ranged between
20-25 years. The subjects were divided into three groups i.e. Two
experimental groups (Surya Bhedan & Bhramari Pranayama) and one
control group. Static Balance and Dynamic Balance Abilities were
selected as Dependent variables and Surya Bhedan Pranayama and
Bhramari Pranayama were considered as Independent variables. In
order to find out the Comparative Effects of Bhramari Pranayama and
Surya Bhedan Pranayama on Balance Abilities (static and dynamic),
Descriptive Statistics and Analysis of Co-Variance (ANCOVA) were
used. Bhramari and Surya Bhedan Pranayama were found fructiferous
in bringing change in Static Balance Ability. But no significant
effect was found on Dynamic Balance Ability.
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among females, both
in incidence and death. As meaningful biological understanding of
the disease is confounded by the existence of various molecular
groups and sub-groups, the challenge for targeted drug development
may lie in understanding the molecular mechanisms of various
sub-groups in breast cancer. This book describes the gene
expression profiling approach for deeper understanding of the
dynamics of breast cancer progression and prognosis.
The book is based on a work on structual and functional dynamics of
the services provided by the university system under the support of
state. Introduction of such services were considered as one of the
most innovative interventions planned ever by the University Grants
Commission in last three decades of the preceeding millenium. But
the movement could perhaps not make the desired impact on both
service fronts as well as on the teaching learning process in
universities. The most satisfying aspect of such servicescould be
observed in the creation of an interface between the university and
community but it simultaneously witnessed efforts by the staff of
these organisations to attempt harmonise their structure and
functions in line with other faculties of the unversity system at
the time when it was rooting well in the system. The attempts made
in this book are intended to provide an understanding of the
education and services and help encourage others to explore further
by generating debate and further reasearch."
New and Future Developments in Microbial Biotechnology and
Bioengineering: Phytomicrobiome for Sustainable Agriculture
provides a comprehensive overview of the phytomicrobiome and a
holistic approach for its various mechanisms, including plant
growth, nutrient content, crop yield improvement, soil fertility,
and health management. This book explores the genus- and
species-specific endophytic microbes for developing an efficient
indigenous microbial consortium for enhancing the productivity of
sustainable agriculture. An essential resource for students,
researchers, and scientists in the fields of biotechnology,
microbiology, agronomy, and the plant protection sciences, New and
Future Developments in Microbial Biotechnology and Bioengineering:
Phytomicrobiome for Sustainable Agriculture highlights the plant
growth-promoting activities of the phytomicrobiome and focuses on
both its basic and applied aspects and the significant role they
play in plant protection.
Bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum is one of the most
important diseases of solanaceous vegetables (tomatoes, eggplants,
chillies, peppers and potatoes). The disease is soil-borne in
nature and leads to widespread damage and significant loss.
Research on understanding the nature of the pathogen means of
mitigation are not available in one place. In this title
information scattered in various literature is collected and
systematically compiled by crop. The importance of solanaceous
vegetables and their nutritive value, pathogen and bacterial wilt
is discussed in the first chapter. The symptomatology of diseases,
including photographs, their etiology, distribution of race biovars
and their diagnosis, morphological, biochemical physiological
characteristics of pathogen, pathogenecity, serodiagnosis,
molecular diagnosis and protocol for detection of R. solancearumin
soil and plant is discussed in the second chapter. The maintenance
and preservation of culture is covered in the third chapter.
Genomics and the mechanism of pathogenesis is discussed in the
fourth chapter. Research work on losses and epidemiology is
collected in the fifth chapter. In the sixth chapter the management
of diseases is discussed. Conclusion and future research makes up
the final chapter. This collection will be useful for anyone
involved in research, teaching and extension, for post-graduate and
Ph.D students, researchers, extension workers and farmers. It will
help increase knowledge of bacterial wilt of solanaceous crops and
their scientific management to reduce crop losses.
