problems encountered by this company of men, the Proprietors of the
Narragansett, as they attempted to divide, establish claims and
settle this area. Each entry provides names, dates and the
historical background of the event. The book also provides a
detailed list of deeds, mortgages and land transactions until 1686.
Divided into two parts, The Company Papers and The Fones Records,
the book gives the reader easy access to information, including
name, subject and place indices.

the Narragansett Historical Register. There are approximately 9,000
individual names, and the records contained include dates of
births, deaths, and marriages, as well as other valuable
