'Letters from Iwo Jima' (2006) is based on the book 'Picture Letters from Commander in Chief' by Tadamichi Kuribayashi. The island of Iwo Jima stands between the American military force and the home islands of Japan. Therefore the Imperial Japanese Army is desperate to prevent it from falling into American hands and providing a launching point for an invasion of Japan. General Tadamichi Kuribayashi (Ken Watanabe) is given command of the forces on the island and sets out to prepare for the imminent attack. General Kuribayashi, however, does not favour the rigid traditional approach recommended by his subordinates, and resentment and resistance fester among his staff.

Epic remake of the adventure classic from acclaimed director Peter Jackson. But after Kong escapes, the ape unleashes his awesome power against the city in an attempt to find Ann, the woman he truly loves, leading to a tragic conclusion atop the Empire State Building.

Jane Eyre (Mia Wasikowska) emerges from a troubled childhood to take on the position of governess at Thornfield Hall. Thornfield is owned by the passionate and impulsive Rochester (Michael Fassbender), who pays Jane unusual attention for someone below his station. The pair quickly fall in love and set their heart on marriage, but a dark secret from Rochester's past threatens to destroy their happiness. Directed by Cary Fukunaga and also starring Judi Dench as the housekeeper, Mrs Fairfax, this latest re-telling of Bronte's popular story makes use of modern cinematic techniques while remaining true to the novel's intent.

After taking her to his flat he cares for her wounds and asks how she got herself into such a situation; thus Joe begins recounting the dark, lusty and labyrinthine story of her life.

Audiences can now experience the definitive and completely uncensored cut of this profoundly moving and viscerally shocking landmark film in two parts.

1970's Scotland, young Bess (Emily Watson) meets and falls in love with oil rig worker Jan (Skarsgård). Despite opposition, the couple marry, and when Jan returns to the rigs Bess counts the days until his return. However, their relationship is put to the test when Jan is paralysed in an accident and he urges Bess to take another lover and relate their sexual acts to him...

Antichrist (2009)
Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg star as a couple grieving the death of their young son. The mother is initially admitted to hospital following the incident, but her husband - a therapist - insists on taking her to their remote forest cabin, 'Eden', and looking after her himself. Presented in four chapters with a prologue and epilogue, the film charts the often violent and disturbing course of the couple's anguish as they immerse themselves in nature and act out their deep suffering in a sequence of increasingly bizarre and brutal rituals.

Melancholia (2011)
The film's first act opens with the wedding of Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård): a sumptuous affair paid for by Justine's sister Claire (Gainsbourg) and her husband John (Kiefer Sutherland). However, when Justine notices a strange star in the sky, she starts behaving oddly and the wedding is ruined. The film's second act follows Justine, now extremely weak and ill, after she goes to live with her sister. As Claire and John struggle to deal with Justine's condition, astronomy buff Claire becomes increasingly concerned about a large blue planet that is threatening to collide with the earth. Charlotte Rampling and John Hurt co-star.

Nymphomaniac - Volumes 1 and 2 (2013)
When the well-read and knowledgeable bachelor Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård) finds a beaten and bruised young woman in an alleyway, he takes her home to his flat to tend to her injuries. The woman introduces herself as Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg), a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, whose carefree and hedonistic lifestyle has led to her situation. Seligman presses Joe to tell her story and she proceeds to recount her experiences, from her childhood up to the present, where sex has been the most important thing in her life. The supporting cast includes Shia La Beouf, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman and Willem Dafoe.

James McAvoy stars as a corrupt, sociopathic Edinburgh cop in director Jon S. Baird's fast-paced black comedy, adapted from the novel by Irvine Welsh. Bored with his duties as a Detective Sergeant in the Edinburgh police force, Bruce Robertson (McAvoy) gorges himself on a mixture of cocaine, alcohol, sexually abusive relationships and endless junk food, whilst plotting to get one over on his colleagues in his quest for a promotion. But although he nurses hopes of getting back together with his ex-wife Carole (Shauna MacDonald), Bruce soon finds his life spiralling out of control, when his drug addiction and unchecked psychological issues combine to test his grip on reality and push him over the edge.

Steven Spielberg brings Hergé's Tintin to the big screen with this animated adventure. With plot lines drawn from three Tintin stories - 'The Crab With the Golden Claws', 'The Secret of the Unicorn' and 'Red Rackham's Treasure' - the film follows intrepid young reporter Tintin (voiced by Jamie Bell) as he joins forces with Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) to find the treasure of his ancestor, Sir Francis Haddoque. A clue hidden inside a model ship bought on a market stall seems to point the way to the treasure. With the assistance of accident-prone Detectives Thompson and Thomson (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost), Tintin and Haddock set out to solve the mystery. Needless to say, though, they are not the only ones after the loot.
