From the time Jennifer Linck was old enough to rock her Cabbage
Patch Doll, she dreamed of being a mother. As her friends began
welcoming tiny bundles of joy, Jennifer struggled to conceive a
child. As a gut-wrenching desire to be a mom built within her, God
began to place adoption on Jennifer's heart. In 2010, Jennifer and
her husband, John, felt God leading them to build their family
through international adoption. Eighteen months after they began
their journey to Ethiopia, God took them on a detour that only He
could have orchestrated. After accepting a job at the local
homeless shelter, Jennifer began to see how God truly wanted her to
live her life-serving the least of these. As God transformed her
heart and showed her how to truly love the poor, the widow, and the
orphan, He began to weave together a story that would eventually
lead to her son. In Bringing Home the Missing Linck, Jennifer
shares how the pain and heartache of infertility became the
building blocks God used to strengthen her faith and make her heart
more like His, as He answered her prayers for a child.
The collapse of Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, and the Soviet Union has resulted in a proliferation of discontented minorities. Preventing the violent conflict triggered by such disaffection has become a driving issue in post-Cold War Europe. National Minorities and the European Nation-States System reveals that the contemporary international system is the root cause of the problem and viable solutions to it must acknowledge this structural limitation.
Nationalism and ethnicity have become, across time and space, a
force in the construction of boundaries. This book analyses
geographical and physical borders and symbolic, political and
socio-economic boundaries, and how they impact upon nationalism and
ethnic identity. Geographic and other tangible borders are critical
components in the making and unmaking of boundaries. However,
symbolic or intangible boundaries along national, ethnic, political
or socio-economic criteria are equally significant. Organised into
three sections on theory, national and transnational case studies,
this book both introduces existing approaches to the study of
boundaries and illustrates how it is possible to apply renewed
boundary approaches to better understand nationalism and ethnicity
in contemporary contexts. Expert contributors in the field present
detailed case studies on the UK, Israel, Estonia, Latvia, Ukraine
and Kazakhstan, and draw upon further examples from more than a
dozen countries to provide a critical evaluation of the use of
borders, boundaries and boundary-making in the study of nationalism
and ethnicity. This book will be of interest to students and
scholars of International Politics, Nationalism, Racial and Ethnic
Politics, Ethnic Identity and Sociology.

Ballet is a detailed guide to creative practice and performance.
Compiled by ten leading practitioners, each chapter focuses on an
aspect of ballet as a performing art. Together they outline a
journey from the underpinning principles of ballet, through an
appreciation of different styles and schooling, into the dance
studio for practice in class and beyond. With additional insights
from highly acclaimed dancers, choreographers and teachers, this
practical guide offers advice on fundamental and advanced training
and creative development. As well as providing information from
dance science research into training well-being, this book supports
the individual dancer in their artistic growth, offering strategies
for exploration and discovery. Topics include: principles, styles
and schooling of classical ballet; fundamental technique and
advanced expression; developing versatility and creative thinking;
advice on injury management, nutrition and lifestyle; choreography
and music and, finally, best practice in the rehearsal studio is
covered. 'A wonderfully accessible and comprehensive resource about
the individual disciplines involved in ballet.' Leanne Benjamin
OBE, former Principal of The Royal Ballet and international coach
The Universal Declaration for Human Rights was approved in 1948 and
yet more than fifty years later some human rights-especially the
rights of groups such as women, minorities, and indigenous
peoples-continue to be at risk. This book examines recent
humanitarian catastrophes involving such groups and suggests how
the society of states may develop a collective capacity for human
rights enforcement. Above all, it emphasizes the long term efforts
to stabilize weak or failing societies and to develop democratic
governments on which the protection of human rights ultimately
depends.
Truth, Trust and Medicine investigates trust and honesty in medicine. It looks at the doctor-patient relationship, raising questions which disturb notions of patients' autonomy and self-determination, such as withholding information and consent and covert surveillance in care units. It will be of interest to those working in medical ethics and applied philosophy, and a valuable resource for practitioners of medicine.

In the 1970's the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) was made to manage our oceanic and atmospheric resources.
The Southwest Fisheries Science Center is the research arm of
NOAA's Southwest Region. Scientists study all areas from the
Pacific Ocean to the Antarctic to make sure that the ocean and
animals in it stay healthy and safe.
Learn how to welcome new neighbors into your community,
particularly when they might be far from home, in this uplifting
and diverse picture book that champions human connection and
inclusivity. After all, the world is everyone's home and we're one

help them feel safe and loved and important? How can we tell them,
you're not alone? There are so many ways! Our World is a Family is
a picture book exploring the complicated topic of human migration
in a gentle, loving, and affirming way. It lightly touches on the
reason people might leave their homes, like climate change or lack
of safety, and inspires children to welcome their new neighbors
into their communities with love.
