Nazi hunter Ezra Lieberman (Laurence Olivier) is aghast when he stumbles upon a plot by war criminal Josef Mengele (Gregory Peck) to produce clones of Adolf Hitler using cells taken from the late dictator's body. It is Mengele's intention to reproduce Hitler not only genetically but in terms of his upbringing, as the boys created from the cells are to grow up in environments as close as possible to the Fuhrer's.

Triple bill featuring the first three 'Omen' films. The saga begins with 'The Omen' (1976), when US Ambassador Robert Thorn (Gregory Peck) is persuaded to substitute a newborn baby, whose mother has died in childbirth, for his own stillborn son. By the age of five, the child, Damien (Harvey Stephens), seems to be exerting a malevolent influence on the Thorn household, suffering a violent fit when he is taken to church and causing his nanny to hang herself. Thorn searches for an answer to his son's behaviour and meets maverick priest Father Brennan (Patrick Troughton), who tries to convince him that Damien is in fact the Antichrist and must be stopped at all costs. The Ambassador at first dismisses this as the crazy rantings of a religious maniac, but subsequent events suggest that maybe the priest had a point. The second film, 'Damien - Omen 2' (1978), picks up events a few years later, with the now-orphaned Damien (Jonathan Scott-Taylor) turning 13 and living with his adoring aunt and uncle. Aunt Marion (Lee Grant) is the first to suspect there is more to the young devil than adolescent angst, leading to her swift dispatch by a killer raven. As for Damien, he is making his mark at military school, and is dismayed to discover his true demonic identity - but not for long. The third film, 'Omen 3 - The Final Conflict' (1981), finds Damien (Sam Neill) all grown up and heading a multinational company. He is about to be appointed US Ambassador to England, a position which will enable him to take over the world and thus fulfil the terrible forecasts of scripture. But there is opposition in the form of a bunch of monks with sacred daggers who will do everything necessary to prevent Satan's enthronement.

When US pilot Colonel Joseph Ryan (Frank Sinatra) is shot down and placed in a German POW camp, he is more concerned with his own survival than escape. Joe Dante directs this late 1980s comedy horror starring Tom Hanks and Bruce Dern. Life is pleasant, if dull, in the suburb of Hinckley Hills until the weird Klopeks move in next door to Ray Peterson (Hanks). When Ray decides to spend his week's vacation relaxing at home, he soon allows himself to be persuaded by his other neighbours that the Klopeks are in fact marauding killers, and joins in the suburbanites' investigation. The film also stars Carrie Fisher and Corey Feldman.

Both Gremlins adventures are collected on this double bill. In the first film an eccentric inventor brings an unusual Christmas gift home for his son Billy (Zach Galligan): a cute, real life teddy bear called Mogwai, obtained from a Chinese trinket store. Upon purchase, the shopowner offers two strict warnings: don't let Mogwai come into contact with water; and don't feed him after midnight. Inevitably, both these stipulations are ignored, and the cuddly creature begins to spawn some distinctly unruly offspring. In the sequel, Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates and Gizmo return (the loveable Mogwai who spawns nasty Gremlins when wet), but this time Gizmo is in danger of dissection by a fiendish doctor (Christopher Lee). On his escape, he gets a dousing and before long the uncontrollable Gremlins (this time in mutated form) are back and wreaking havoc.

As the victim of appalling domestic abuse, Sara Burney (Julia Roberts) stages her own disappearance to escape her monstrous husband (Patrick Bergin). However, even a new town and a new name cannot stop her husband and when he discovers where she is, he wants revenge.

In 'The Tenant' (1976), when Trelkovsky (Polanski) rents a decrepit, barren flat he discovers that the flat's previous occupant, a young girl, had leaped to her death from its window. Intrigued, he begins to obsess about the girl and convinces himself that the other tenants of the building are trying to drive him to self-murder as well. But has Trelkovsky really only inherited the girl's suicidal urges? Finally, in 'Chinatown' (1974), private eye Jake Gittes (Jack Nicholson) is hired to follow water commissioner Hollis Mulwray (Darrell Zwerling), only to see him turn up dead at the bottom of a reservoir. Realising he has been used, Gittes confronts Mulwray's widow Evelyn (Faye Dunway), a woman who seems to have plenty of secrets of her own, not least her ambiguous relationship with her father Noah Cross (John Huston).

Adventure starring Helen Slater. On a desperate mission to save Planet Earth, Supergirl (Slater), must retrieve a missing life-giving power source to save her home city from total destruction. Startled by her own amazing Superpowers, Supergirl traces the lost Omegahedron only to discover that it has fallen into the hands of the rapacious Selena (Faye Dunaway) who unleashes untold horrors to thwart her young adversary.

Alec Baldwin stars as Lamont Cranston, alias The Shadow, in this big screen adaptation of the popular 1930s radio series. Once a gangster himself, Cranston now uses his special powers of invisibility for the collective good, waging a war against his arch-foe, the criminal mastermind Shiwan Khan (John Lone). Kahn has kidnapped the scientist father of the beautiful Margo Lane (Penelope Ann Miller), built an atom bomb, and threatened to destroy New York City unless a large ransom is paid. Can Cranston locate Kahn's secret headquarters and defuse the bomb or is it bye-bye to the Big Apple?

Produced by Steven Spielberg, this hugely successful horror flick apparently came under his directorial control, as well, despite the official credit being given to Tobe Hooper. Things start going bump in the night in a suburban home, much to the consternation of its resident family. When the youngest daughter gets sucked into the television screen, her parents call in an eccentric psychic for assistance.

When media baron Rod McCain (Kevin Kline) buys Marwood Zoo in England, he sends over his son Vince (also Kline) and the sexy Willa Weston (Jamie Lee Curtis) to ensure that it turns over a 20% profit. The zoo is being run by McCain employee Rollo Lee (John Cleese), who has instigated a policy that only fierce creatures should be on display. When Vince sets up advertising hoardings and arranges bogus celebrity sponsorship, the zookeepers, led by insect specialist 'Bugsy' Malone (Michael Palin), revolt. John Cleese reassembles the cast of 'A Fish Called Wanda' for this film, described as an 'equal' rather than a sequel.

Four of the big-screen 'Star Trek' spin-offs featuring the crew of 'The Next Generation'. In 'Generations' (1994), Captain James T Kirk (William Shatner) reluctantly comes out of retirement to attend the launch of the 'Enterprise B'. When the ship attempts to rescue two cargo ships trapped in a strange electrical field, part of its structure is shorn away - taking Kirk with it.

78 years later, 'Enterprise D' captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) is mourning the deaths of his brother and nephew when he is called to investigate an attack on the Amagosa Observatory. The culprits turn out to be Picard's old adversaries, renegade Klingons Lursa and B'Etor, allied with sinister El Aurian scientist Dr Soran (Malcolm McDowell). Soran was amongst those rescued by the 'Enterprise B', and is now desperate to return to the energy field - called the Nexus - which claimed Kirk's life. When Picard himself enters the Nexus, a historic encounter results. In 'First Contact' (1996), Captain Jean-Luc Picard, once assimilated by the alien Borg, now senses that they are about to return. He is proved correct when the Collective engages the Enterprise E in battle, only to escape through a temporal vortex into the Earth's past. Picard and his crew glimpse an alternative Earth which is dominated by the Borg and, in an attempt to find out how the Borg have altered the timeline, follow them back to the year 2063, one day before Zefram Cochran (James Cromwell) made the first warp drive journey. It was this event that attracted the attention of some passing Vulcans and established Earth's 'first contact' with alien life. While Riker (Jonathan Frakes) leads an away team to prevent the Borg from tampering with the Earth's history, Picard must repel a Borg invasion of the Enterprise.

In 'Insurrection' (1998), a Federation team are unobtrusively observing life on the remarkable world of Ba'ku, where 600 peaceful inhabitants enjoy the planet's youth-preserving qualities. However, forces within the alliance want to repatriate the population so that the planet's resources can be exploited more intensively. Captain Jean-Luc Picard leads his crew in an effort to protect Ba'ku's residents and thereby honour the Federation's Prime Directive: non-intervention in the development of other civilisations.

'Nemesis' (2002) is the tenth instalment in the 'Star Trek' film series. When Picard and the crew discover a disassembled prototype of their android colleague Data (Brent Spiner) on a distant planet, they take the parts back to the Enterprise and attempt to put them back together. Meanwhile, news arrives that the new Romulan leader Shinzon (Tom Hardy) wants to restore relations with the United Federation of Planets and Picard is sent to negotiate. When Picard arrives, he uncovers a shocking truth about Shinzon's connection to himself, and unearths a sinister plot to destroy the Earth.

Sean Connery and Ian McShane stars in this classic British thriller. Set in Scandinavia, it interweaves two terrorist situations; the kidnapping of the British ambassador and the hijacking of a plane while still on the tarmac. Connery plays the smooth talking Colonel who is sent in to make sense of and solve both situations.

Classic creature comedy horror directed by Joe Dante and produced by Steven Spielberg.
