Keeping pace with explosive developments in the field, Colloidal
Science of Flotation reviews and updates the fundamentals of the
bubble-particle collection phenomenon using a self-consistent
approach that helps readers understand the hydrodynamic aspects of
bubble-particle collection. The authors examine bubble rise
velocity, water velocity around air bubbles, the thinning of
intervening liquid films, the stability of particle-bubble
aggregates, and macroscopic processes in froth. They also survey
the applicability of emerging technologies in industrial flotation
deinking, wastewater treatment, flotation of plastics, and
improvements in minerals and coal flotation.
Internationally recognized Bach authority Hans-Joachim Schulze
authored a 225-part series on the cantatas of Johann Sebastian
Bach. In this collection, James A. Brokaw II translates a selection
of the essays, illuminating a wide range of biographical and
cultural features of Bach’s life and creative milieu. Schulze’s
lively and engaging discussions provide a wealth of rewarding
insights and perspectives focusing on individual cantatas, their
texts, and the questions of chronology and context that attend
them. The University of Illinois Press has paired the volume with a
special web-based companion overseen by the translator and hosted
by the Illinois Open Publishing Network. This online resource
includes Brokaw’s translations of all 225 of Schulze’s essays
alongside digital tools for searching, sorting, and bundling the
commentaries according to date of composition, position within the
liturgical church year sequence, and librettist.
The book treats the C -hydrocarbons and their secondary products as
a contribution 4 to chemical engineering economics, applying this
field of teaching and research to the technical processes for
making and processing this group of products, so important to the
chemical industry. As early as tpe 1950s the then director of the
Institute for Technical Chemistry of the Berlin Technical
University, Professor Herbert Kolbel, took the' initiative in the
domain of Chemical Engineering Economics and began systematic
studies of Project Engineering and Cost Estimation in connection
with chemical plants. He also started a course on technical
chemical processes in 1966. Properties, production procedures,
plant equipment, and also the uses of technically interesting
products are the central features of Chemical Technology. The
information is to be found in the large encyclopedias of Technical
Chemistry. On the other hand, Chemical Engineering Economics deals
with all the economic conditions of usage of the raw materials,
possibilities of utilizing co-products, and the integration of
these products into definite production programmes, from the stand
point of the chemical and technical fundamentals of the processes.
Further important viewpoints are the costs of the products, taking
into consideration important and variable influences on these
costs, the situation and development of the market for the products
and, of increasing significance, also the ecological global
conditions for procuring raw materials and the production and
marketing of the particular products."
The book series Beihefte zur Zeitschrift fur romanische Philologie,
founded by Gustav Groeber in 1905, is among the most renowned
publications in Romance Studies. It covers the entire field of
Romance linguistics, including the national languages as well as
the lesser studied Romance languages. The editors welcome
submissions of high-quality monographs and collected volumes on all
areas of linguistic research, on medieval literature and on textual
criticism. The publication languages of the series are French,
Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Romanian as well as German and
English. Each collected volume should be as uniform as possible in
its contents and in the choice of languages.
vorgeschlagen.
This book presents a standardized framework for the analysis of family development and family policies in Europe. It offers an accessible and coherent account of how harmonized--or not--the various countries are in terms of cultural and political attitudes towards the family, as well as institutions.
This is a comparative study of family change in Europe and its dependency on social policy regimes. The authors explore family discourse, family law, single parents, gender relations, the 'new fathers', divorce, and abortion within the framework of national policies vis-à-vis the family.
wirtschaftlichen Erfolges. Was in anderen Industriezweigen bereits
FortfUhrung unseres friiheren Werkes.
Die chemische Industrie ist durch ein aussergewoehnliches
Entwickhmgs tempo gekennzeichnet.

In Bach in America, volume 5 of Bach Perspectives, nine scholars
track Johann Sebastian Bach's reputation in America from an artist
of relative obscurity to a cultural mainstay whose music has spread
to all parts of the population, inspired a wealth of scholarship,
captivated listeners, and inspired musicians.
More than a hundred years passed after Bach's death in 1750
before his music began to be known and appreciated in the United
States. Barbara Owen surveys Bach's early reception in America and
Matthew Dirst focuses on John Sullivan Dwight's role in advocating
Bach's work. Michael Broyles considers the ways Bach's music came
to be known in Boston and Mary J. Greer offers a counterpoint in
her study of Bach's reception in New York.
The volume continues with Hans-Joachim Schulze's essay linking
the American descendants of August Reinhold Bach to J. S. Bach
through a common sixteenth-century ancestor. Christoph Wolff
focuses on Bach's descendants in America, particularly Friederica
Sophia Bach, the daughter of Bach's eldest son, Wilhelm Friedemann.
Peter Wollny evaluates several manuscripts not included in Gerhard
Herz's study of Bach Sources in America. The book concludes with
examinations of Bach's considerable influence on American
composers. Carol K. Baron compares the music of Bach and Charles
Ives and Stephen A. Crist measures Bach's influence on the jazz
pianist and composer Dave Brubeck.
