Einer Anregung von mehreren Seiten, insbesondere der Wiener Dach. deckergenossenschaft folgend, habe ioh mioh entsohlossen, das seit einer Reihe von Jahren vergriffene Handbuoh "Der osterr .. ung. Daohdeoker. meister" einer grundliohen Umarbeitung zu unterziehen. Die neue Auflage habe ioh hierbei so gehalten, dass sie nioht nur fur den Daohdeoker alles Wissenswerte bringt, sondern auoh allen ubrigen Baugewerbetreibenden, ja selbst Fernerstehenden (Hausverwaltern usw.) als wertvoller Behelf dienen kann. Im ersten Teil "Die Arbeiten des Dachdeckers" beschreibe ioh nioht nur die Deokungen, sondern bringe auoh Analysen, Materialkunde, Stuokzahltabellen, Lattungseinteilungen, Material. und Zeitaufwand, kurz alles, was zur Durohfuhrung und Berechnung der zeitgemassen Dachdecker. arbeiten erforderlioh ist. Den zweiten Teil "Der Dachdeoker als Gewerbetreibender" werden gewiss alle Faohkollegen besonders begrussen. Ein kurzer Bliok in diesen Absohnitt wird aber den Leser uberzeugen, dass dieser Absohnitt auoh fur jeden anderen Baufaohmann von Interesse und Wiohtigkeit ist. Der dritte, an Umfang kleinste Teil "Der Daohdecker als Genossen. sohafter" betrifft nur die Dachdecker allein. loh hoffe, mit diesem Buoh eine empfindliohe Luoke auszufullen und nehme Wunsche und Anregungen fur Erganzungen und Verbesserungen fur spatere Auflagen gerne entgegen.
