Employees of different labor sectors are involved in different
projects and pressed to deliver results in a specific period of
time, which increases their mental workload. This increase can lead
to a high mental workload, which in turn leads to a decline in job
performance. Therefore, strategies for managing mental workload and
promoting mental health have become necessary for corporate
success. Evaluating Mental Workload for Improved Workplace
Performance is a critical scholarly book that provides
comprehensive research on mental workload and the effects, both
adverse and positive, that it can have on employee populations as
well as strategies for decreasing or deleting it from the labor
sector. Highlighting an array of topics such as psychosocial
factors, critical success factors (CSF), and technostress, this
book is ideal for academicians, researchers, managers, ergonomists,
engineers, industrial designers, industry practitioners, and
students.

Star defensive player Zack Fuller is in a tough spot. His new
Panthers teammates don't trust him. The players on the Bulldogs,
his old squad, think he's a traitor for leaving. When the two teams
face each other in the playoffs, Zack has to guard his former best
friend. To make matters worse, the Panthers captain refuses to pass
the ball to Zack. Caught between a Panther and a Bulldog, and in
serious foul trouble, Zack will have to find a way to play through
the pressure.
This proceedings volume highlights the latest research and

July 9th to 13th, 2018. The IMPS is one of the largest
international meetings on quantitative measurement in education,
psychology and the social sciences. The last couple of years it has
attracted more than 500 participants and more than 250 paper
presentations from researchers around the world. Leading experts in
the world and promising young researchers have written the 38
chapters. The chapters address a large variety of topics including
but not limited to item response theory, multistage adaptive
testing, and cognitive diagnostic models. This volume is the 7th in
a series of recent volumes to cover research presented at the IMPS.
Is acquiring a third language the same as acquiring a second? Are
all instances of non-native language acquisition simply one and the
same? In this first book-length study of the topic, the authors
systematically walk the reader through the evidence to answer these
questions. They suggest that acquiring an additional language in
bilinguals (of all types) is unique, and reveals things about the
links between language and mind, brain, and cognition, which are
otherwise impossible to appreciate. The patterns of linguistic
transfer and what motivates it when there are choices (as can only
be seen starting in third language acquisition) underscores a key
concept in linguistic and psychological sciences: economy.
Overviewing the subfields examining multilingual acquisition and
processing, this book offers an expanded systematic review of the
field of multilingual morphosyntactic transfer, as well as
providing recommendations for the future emerging field.

Gain confidence and expertise with stereoelectroencephalography
(SEEG) as a presurgical method for epilepsy with this helpful
resource. Edited and written by leading experts in the field,
Stereoelectroencephalography teaches the scientific and medical
bases of SEEG through its essential disciplines (anatomy,
biophysics, electrophysiology, and cognitive and behavioral
neuroscience) and their interrelations. It fully covers the basic
and clinical aspects of the pharmaco-resistant epilepsies
investigated with SEEG and their surgical indications. Describes
the evolution in time of the presurgical methods leading to the
current practice of SEEG. Explains how to determine the anatomical
basis of electrode implantation, its referential system, and how it
prepares rational planning to tailored resection or ablation.
Examines the nature of the SEEG signal, how the depth electrodes
capture it, and how the dynamics of multiple cortical sites
recording can be understood. Contains chapters on key topics such
as the optimal SEEG electrode, intracerebral electrodes
implantation technique, seizure onset: interictal, preictal/ictal
patterns and the epileptogenic zone, how to define the extent of
the EZ by applying signal processing methods, the role of SEEG in
exploring lesional epilepsy cases, and much more. Presents the
logical chain linking SEEG to anatomically pre-planned surgery.
Includes discussions of in-depth illustrative cases. An eBook
version is included with purchase. The eBook allows you to access
all of the text, figures and references, with the ability to
search, customize your content, make notes and highlights, and have
content read aloud. N/A

Parallel Programming: Concepts and Practice provides an upper level
introduction to parallel programming. In addition to covering
general parallelism concepts, this text teaches practical
programming skills for both shared memory and distributed memory
architectures. The authors' open-source system for automated code
evaluation provides easy access to parallel computing resources,
making the book particularly suitable for classroom settings.

There were 4 words I had hoped to never hear in my lifetime? YOU
HAVE BREAST CANCER. Unfortunately I heard those 4 words in the
summer of 2012. Fortunately due to early detection it was caught
very early. I am one of the lucky ones. This is my story of
discovery, treatment, recovery and survival of Breast Cancer.
