Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.
"Destined to Make It" is the story about how this writer fought and
overcame tremendous odds that would have sidelined many before the
fight began. This book was birth through me because of my many life
experiences that crippled me and had me bound for years. My drive
and desire not to be held by my past propelled me forward. My
desire is to reach women that are held by their past, and are
afraid to let go of what has held them bound for years. I pray as
you read my story that you will begin to take courage, move out of
your situation and move forward. We cannot control what others do
to us, but we can control how we handle the situation. Take
control, and Remember, the battle is not yours but it's the Lords.
Three kids venture to the North Pole to help Santa defeat an army
of evil elves in this holiday classic from the brilliant mind that
brought you The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. Art
Atchinson Aimesworth--inventor, crime fighters, and all-around whiz
kid--journeys north with his sister, Esther, and his pal Spaulding,
by special invitation from Santa himself. Why did Santa call them
to the North Pole? Art wants to know. But when Esther is taken by
the Queen of the Dark Elves, Art must put his questions aside and
save his sister. This reissue of William Joyce's epic Christmas
adventure now comes complete with lift-the-flap letters from Santa
himself!
During the Silent Era, when most films dealt with dramatic or
comedic takes on the ""boy meets girl, boy loses girl"" theme,
there were also quite a few motion pictures that dared to tackle
such topics as rejuvenation, revivication, mesmerism, the
supernatural and the grotesque. A Daughter of the Gods (1916), The
Phantom of the Opera (1925), The Magician (1926) and Seven
Footprints to Satan (1929) were among the unusual and startling
films containing story elements that went far beyond the realm of
""highly unlikely."" Using surviving documentation and their
combined expertise, the authors offer their thoughts on these
departures from the norm in this encyclopedic discussion on the
American view of cinematic horror, science fiction and fantasy in
the years between 1913 and 1929.
The authors of this book examine polyethers and polyethylene
glycol. The first chapter in particular gives a systematic,
balanced and comprehensive summary of the main aspects of
photosensitive polyethylene glycol. The second chapter is a focus
on the biodegradation of polyethylene glycols (PEGs) and
polyethoxylated surfactants. The third and last chapter of this
book focuses on polyethylene glycol based phase change polymers for
thermal energy storage applications. Life nowadays is often
centered around technologies, and it is of utmost important to have
the primary and secondary resources ready for present and future
needs. This last chapter addresses these concerns and various
procedures in which thermal energy can be stored and used.

Nor was he always on the moon.
He was once a child.

a shooting star,
and a lost balloon
sent him on a quest.
Meet the very first guardian of childhood.
MiM, the Man in the Moon.
'Walking the Dog' is the second collection of poetry by Joyce
Williams. Published posthumously, her work is a sensitive
exploration of landscapes, heritage and the nature of love. Her
portrayal of Somerset and its local people are particularly
authentic. This collection weaves together evocative language and a
mastery of poetic form, creating a moving anthology of human
experience. Joyce's poetry has won several awards, including The
Watford Cup and The Sylvia George Memorial Trophy, Mid-Somerset
Festival, 2009.
Facing tragedy in her life, seventeen-year-old Rachel McDonald
goes on a spiritual journey as Christ Jesus answers her questions.
Rachel knows that God loves her, but she still is unclear about why
bad things have happened to her, her sister, and her best friend.
This narrative study explains God's love and compassion for Rachel
and for everyone through the inspired Word of His Son, Christ
Jesus.
"Jesus, I Don't Understand" describes God's endless love, mercy,
and grace as Christ Jesus speaks to Rachel's heart as only a Father
could. Rachel, a young Christian girl, attends a Bible study class
every Wednesday with her best friend, Matthew Lacy. When a terrible
accident occurs, however, it changes her faith in the goodness of
God and His promises. All the things she learned in her Bible study
classes begin to unravel for her. She feels alone and confused, and
she has three important questions for Christ Jesus: Why do children
die so young? Why do young people get sick? Are we really going to
heaven when we die?
A father is a girl's first example of a relationship, and the way
she sees him treat women will determine how she will let men treat
her when she's older. When a girl knows that her father loves her
and thinks she's the smartest, most beautiful girl in the world,
she will not care what anyone else thinks of her. She won't easily
fall for some boy's pick-up lines and will stick to her morals
because she knows what true love and respect looks like.
