Love comes in the most unlikely places! It must surely be a case of
mistaken identity or so Carrie informed herself as she travelled
towards the place indicated to her. But then at the time she had no
idea of what awaited her there or the advent of the two men into
her life who would ultimately shape her destiny. Neither come to
that had she any idea at the time of the dangers which were
destined to torment her. Could this be all because she had once
applied for a job in the civil service? But if this was the case
she was hardly filing papers in an air conditioned office.
Therefore she was left with the question whether she could find
true love as she faced those jagged ghoul shaped rocks which
appeared to inspire sedition?
When the figure of a man was washed up on the beach close to where
she was staying Helen Western did not know at first whether the
figure was dead or alive. But then Tamir, after escaping from the
ferry boat carrying refugees because his life was in danger, was
very much alive and as a result the two of them soon struck up a
relationship. Still the time eventually came when Helen had to
return back to her teaching job in England. Tamir however was
determined to follow her even if he had no papers! England however
was not that Paradise Island where they had first met and quite
soon people were to come between them with disastrous consequences.
The question was could their problems ever be resolved or was true
happiness out of the question for them to find? Love like the tide
can ebb and flow!
Rebecca may have won a gold medal at the Olympics but she also
managed to catch the Zika virus. Visited in hospital by a young man
she becoame attracted to she had no idea that they would meet again
on that cruiser where she was working as a gymnast. Unfortunately
by that time Steve Eldon had also entered her life and the trouble
was that he also had a friend whom Rebecca flet uncomfortable with
to say the least: but then life often promotes a few challenges
including a death and a trail before she is able to find complete
happiness!
Captured by pirates as a potential bride for their chief after her
parents are killed in Nigeria, Alona finally escapes back to her
birthplace in the U.K. Fete for her story Alona finds herself
involved with film makers who are anxious to portray her story on
the screen, but such a new life is not without its drawbacks one of
whom appears in the guise of Gregg Bancroft. Alona however is to
find herself in an even deeper quandary when she hears that the
Island girl who affected her own rescue has been injured and flown
to this country for surgery, all of which leaves Alona torn between
her child and caring for the girl she once knew. In this she finds
herself in a situation where only Gregg can help her. But then by
this time Gregg is already engaged to another!
Whilst she was busy collecting different hues of sand to compile a
picture for her Phd exam, Sophia never imagined that she would
finish up helping to rescue a President from a war torn African
state. Neither at the time did she realise what an important role
the tall blonde stranger, whom at first she saw only from a
distance, would have in her life. But then there were other things
too, which were of strategic importance to her country: All of
which seemed to leave little time for love, or was that just a
figment of her imagination.
Left a legacy by her parents Becky Carson's first inclination was
to invest this into a business venture with her partner Jeff
Gunter. That however was before Becky realised the true character
of the man. It was also before a fire at sea and meeting Sven
Jensen. Matters could not be resolved quite so easily however
especially after Jeff Gunter became involved with a gang, known to
the police. The question was would Sven be willing to wait for her
whilst she disentangled her life or were the rumours about him
correct: Was he a married man?
If Kelly was surprised when she managed to secure the job acting as
companion and secretary to a Professor who was returning to England
after suffering an accident, she was even more surprised when she
met Stefan Rincon. Surprised that was at herself for actually
falling for the man! But then life does not always proceed without
its complications. One of these was the fact that she herself was
being used by others to glean scientific information from the
Professor and yet another came in the fact that once back in
England and seeking a future in the theatre she was to find herself
at the centre of foreign intervention. Even so perhaps the thoughts
she had of Marie Sanchez having already formed a relationship with
the Professor were to be proved wrong when it was this person who
eventually came to her rescue. But Stefan himself still remained an
enigma and a happy ending seemed to be quite impossible!
Travelling to Norway for the wedding of her friend, Sonja was
ill-prepared for the advent of the silent one or indeed what was
consequently to happen, but then Lars Bjork-birch was a completely
different character to others she had met. But then Sonja herself
had a secret, a child who was fast reaching his maturity and one
who regarded his mother only as a money making machine even when
she found herself as a guest of Soviet Russia. Yet Lars himself
also held a secret close to his heart. What that was Sonja had
eventually to find out!
A son who was keeping alpacas in sheep rearing country was enough
to despair any man which was probably one of the reasons why Joe
Addle persuaded his son Gary to attend that meeting in order to
better himself! Still when Gary was elected to serve on the Pink
Rose Party against the local school mistress Joe may have been
rather surprised but he was even more so when he found out that the
two of them were in cahoots planning that Viking Seaway. By this
time however other bodies had entered into the fray such as Andrew
Masterson and his father in law, an old union official and perhaps
even more significantly the figure of Walter Grimsdale who was
nothing if not determined to put an end to this fiasco which had
its roots in the history books. Thus in the face of such opposition
was it possible that true love would survive and if so at what
cost?
After parting from the man who had once meant a great deal to her,
Adele Corsairs fully intended to spend some time with her writing,
yet the storm of her private life was to be echoed by a ferocious
storm of the elements where she suddenly meets the new man in her
life. Simon Felton however was soon to prove that he was not all
that she had envisaged. A fact that was to prove all the more
disturbing when she discovered that he was the son of her new
employer, which made her new job working to promote a cruise line
all the more difficult. Things seemed to go from bad to worse when
Jason Rennet was found murdered and questions were then asked about
her own relationship with this individual. Neither did a happy
ending seem to be forthcoming when Adele realised that Simon was in
fact expected to marry the daughter of one of their competitors.
Yet Adele's reaction to this was to perpetuate even more disturbing
consequences; leaving one to pose the question as to whether
matters would ever end satisfactorily?
Travelling out to Gibraltar Dawn Middleton fully expected to
receive an engagement ring and certainly not the ring of a hollow
bullet. Nevertheless as a language expert Dawn soon found her
services were required by H.M. Intelligence. Yet whilst she was
aware of Governmental ideas to curb illegal immigration, she never
expected to find herself involved in a mission to actually bring
one such person back to Europe. Neither come to that had she
expected to become involved with the likes of Callum Seddon. Even
so during the extent of this mission many things came to pass that
caused her to change her mind, not only on the task she had to
undertake but also on the person she had now fallen in love with.
Sometimes however fate can often provide tricks such as Marcus
Sanchez, whom Dawn had believed to be dead, entering her life again
and this in itself provided some soul searching.
To any outsider it was a case of boy meets girl on that boat which
crossed the Baltic, but then Joseph Heiman was on a mission and
Olga Larson was shortly to find herself arrested by the Russian
Authorities. Yet although their separation suggested that others
would enter their lives and assume some degree of importance; and
despite the spectre of that large Russian female who appeared to be
constantly present, this was a story that was finally played out in
the Orkney Islands where a tenet of suspicion haunted both of their
lives! The question was not only who would Olga now choose but also
how the Commander's wife, a person whom Joseph had met when on a
training exercise now fitted into this equation, and what of the
Commander himself, a man whom Joseph had once believed to be stern
and relentless but who now showed additional characteristics?

Maybe it appeared to be a little unorthodox for Jayne to take the
job as a courier, but then at the time she had not expected to find
herself embroiled with either drug trafficking or indeed Luc
Mathieu. But then Luc had problems of his own which revolved around
his inheritance of Priory Manor and relatives who would dearly have
loved to have relieved him of this and more especially the land
which had also passed to him and which was currently at the centre
for the exploration of shale gas. As this location happened to be
close to Jayne's home address it seemed to be inevitable that the
two would be thrown together, more especially when Detective
Inspector Bennett offered a helping hand in this by keeping the
pair of them together. Yet before true romance could blossom there
were still many skeletons in the cupboard that needed to be
disarmed, including Luc's own biological father and Jayne's former
fiance, a person that her parents thought the world about but who
nevertheless had his own self-interests at heart. .
When Tanya Illingworth had a desire to visit Norway, she never
intended to become involved with Norse Mythology; neither as a
matter of fact did she intend to become involved with Gareth
Preston, for as far as she was concerned all men now remained in a
'no go' area for her. Perhaps however there was more to Gareth
Preston than the plastic troll he insisted on buying her for in
future years it was Nadia their daughter who was to entice them on
that further voyage in which Garethwas destined to play a key role.
But could love survive when there were others seemingly anxious to
tear the couple apart? Maybe Gareth still had something to prove
but the fact is can one really trust the Trolls?
Forced to leave her home on the coast in order to find work, Meg
Wilson finds initial employment as a carer at a rehabilitation
centre for wounded ex-servicemen with the promise of being able to
study for a future nursing career. Meg however is particularly
drawn to one of the patients, an American by birth who is now
struggling to come to terms with prosthetic limbs. Yet David is
also a married man with a wife and child back in the States and
eventually this is where he returns. This is hardly the end of the
matter however for a couple of years later he returns to England,
initially to foolhardily attempting the coast to coast walk before
later accompanying a group of amputees from the centre in the
States, where he now works as a manager, to the Paralympic games in
London. This time around the fact that he is a married man seems to
have little bearing on her emotions. Life however is not without
throwing obstacles in their path, one of which comes in the form of
Marion, David's estranged wife, and the other from someone out of
her own past whom she would rather have forgotten.
When Becky Ferguson left her teaching post as well as her current
boyfriend to move north in order to look after her father she
firmly believed that she had finished with men. Not so, however, as
she was soon to find out and what was more in the most unorthodox
of fashions; for the men who now invaded her life after first
receiving the mysterious note pushed through her door, consisted of
a variety of characters, not all of whom were acceptable. Even so
there was the one called Martin, who after involving her with that
research cell in the Lake District; she was to discover that the
solar flares he spoke about were not all astronomical.
Unfortunately however events are seldom destined to run smoothly
and with the advent of others from a past life, Becky realised that
she was in grave danger of losing Martin. But Becky still had
friends, one in particular who quickly guessed her secret and
moreover felt determined to do something about it.
Requested by her boss to attend a meeting in his place, the last
thing that Rachel Burton expected was to find herself in the midst
of the Eurozone crisis. Neither did she anticipate finding herself
on a cruise ship and falling head over heels in love with a man who
led a suspicious existence. Yet there were more formidable enemies
of the State that the young economist had to face and the prospect
of her returning to her own employ became more and more remote as
the situation grew more intense. What had happened to Callum
Rothwell after he was knocked unconscious in Lisbon remained a
mystery, but then could she trust Brett Chaplain as well as that
female with the long finger nails especially when her own brother
appeared to be involved? But by this time Rachel had fallen for the
man who now seemed to disregard her!
If Fiona was surprised when she inherited Claymore Hall she was
even more surprised to find that she had two sitting tenants in the
form of mother and son. Yet upon meeting Bertha Carpenter she
wondered whether she should have followed her partner's advice and
sold the place, but then Clive's eyes had registered like a cash
machine at the time. Not that he was prepared to give up his quest
however but by this time other characters had appeared on the
scene; the man in charge of plotting a route for pylons to serve
the National Grid; a secretive character by the name of James
Fuller and not least William Carpenter himself who apparently had
interests of his own! Thus perhaps the scene was now set for even
more sinister happenings destined to disturb the peace of the
tranquil Scottish countryside beset now with gold mining rumours.
Events that followed forced Fiona into becoming involved as well as
falling in love quite unexpectedly!
In truth Deborah Wright sought the peace and tranquillity of La
Gomera in order to allow herself some space to come to terms with
the trauma that life had forced upon her and also in the hope that
she would be able to refresh her own creative talent. What she had
never expected however was to meet a man by the name of Mark Craven
or to become embroiled in a new career. Yet whilst this in itself
presented a challenge, the forces of dissention that haunted her
mind were soon to return in an even more sinister form. Who
therefore could be proclaimed the winner from this output born of
the cauldron of emotions and perhaps what was more to the point,
who was the one who possessed a disturbing secret who tried to
surreptitiously undermine her life?
Shrouded in its veil of mysticism the story of St Bega may have
served to accentuate the prominence of those surrounding lofty
peaks, yet upon returning home after an absence of twelve years
Borran Smethwick found little to fascinate him in this story, nor
indeed did the stories of his own family's Viking ancestry; for in
truth the man's sole desire was to rekindle his past relationship
with Alison Guthrie, the girl who lived next door, even if this
meant going against many of his family's principles! Many things
had happened during his long absence however that served only to
hamper such attempts. Matters that included his own brother's
running of the estate as well as the remnants of some film that had
been made in the area, something which now appeared to be of
particular interest to those German visitors. Moreover there was
also the matter of the murder in Dodd's Wood that occurred the same
night as his return! Nevertheless as the tide of events began to
close in around him Borran finds that he has at least two allies,
one of these is Alison Guthrie herself and the other in the
unlikely character of Ned Rook against who many waved the finger of
suspicion
After the irretrievable break up of her marriage and having just
qualified as a practising doctor, the last person that Kathryn now
wished to meet was a character like that of Nathan Woodward!
Nevertheless employed on a mercy mission to help out in a Haiti
hospital after the disaster out there, Kathryn found perhaps
initially to her dismay that their paths appeared to cross more and
more. Even so for her to actually fall in love with this man was
totally unthinkable especially considering that he had already made
his views on such matters well known not to mention the shadows
from her own past that kept returning to haunt her! Unfortunately
or otherwise the two appear to have mutual friends however and it
is Nathan, the consultant in tropical medicine who requests her
assistance on a special project. Yet can love possibly survive the
trauma that has yet to come?
Rachel Aldred had mixed feelings when she travelled to the airport
to meet her boss who was flying out to her holiday Island from
England, not least because she was aware that eh was expecting an
answer to a certain question he had posed. Still when the man
didn't arrive her world was suddenly thrown into bigger turmoil: No
doubt this situation was aggravated by the annoying stranger she
met, an enigma who unfortunately was to become a large part of her
life! As if that was not enough this individual had the distinct
habit of turning up at every location she subsequently found
herself in eyeing her all the while with a look that hallmarked
suspicion. Worse however was to follow when tragedy truck at her
own family for it was only then that she began to appreciate the
tentacles exuding from the cells of Al Queda that were concentrated
not only in some far off country but also closer to home! Yet Lance
Turner had still not clearly defined his own role in all of this
and how his presence was to affect her own life!
Can love survive the tide of deception? The love that Stacey once
knew on the Island in the Lake, is cruelly wrested from out of her
grasp with the advent of those who appear to be intent upon
grasping the things that she cherishes. Thus the Island itself is
left to return into a veil of secrecy. In truth however, whilst one
misunderstanding has resulted in forcing her apart from her true
love, more is yet to follow, for Stacey subsequently is to find
herself at the mercy of someone who wishes to use her merely as a
way of fulfilling his own needs. Consequently the question remains
as to whether her lover will be able to return in time to save her
or will the present shroud of silence seek to immerse her into its
fathomless depths.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Atlantic Isles this
holiday with a difference was certainly not anticipated by Jackie
Leighton when she journeyed to Crab Island to escape from the
trauma of having been jilted at the altar! Neither, at the time,
had she taken into consideration that she would become the subject
of mistaken identity! The fact that she was unable to convince
Stewart Morris that she was not the girl in question led to her
involvement in a rescue mission; to be hunted down by foreign
assassins and eventually left to face the creatures she dreaded the
most! But given the choice, would she choose a reconciliation with
one rather contrite fianc or would she prefer a liaison with this
most unpredictable of men?
