As a follow up to his book `Holywood Its Cinema & Other Memories' the author has written another reminiscing on Holywood around the 60's and 70s'. With a mixture of advertisements, snippets of news and photographs he brings the reader back to remember those years gone by in Holywood. Although Holywood's development and population has expanded over the years its shops and businesses have continued to exist mainly in the same areas. The structures of many shops have mostly remained the same but the types of businesses have changed, what was once a sweet shop may now be a cafe. Looking at an advertisement or photo helps recover lost memories of those places that once were important in our everyday life, be it commercially or for pleasure. The author has put together a book to help re-live those memories. The reader will find the book will help as they travel back in time to reminisce on their younger days in Holywood & the shops, restaurants & services that were available and a part of their life.
The author was born in Holywood, County Down, and has lived all his life there. For a period of time he worked in the Holywood Cinema and he believes that, since it has now gone but was once a part of the fabric of Holywood, it is worth recording its existence. He decided to write this little book and give readers a short idea of how the cinema operated, its history and his personal experiences. The author takes a brief look at some of the people involved in what was our local cinema and their jobs, as well as what was involved in keeping the films showing. Along with this he has added some other bits of local news, personal memories and changes that have happened over the years in the town, recently and in the past.

Arising from a New Zealand context and touching on universal issues, Connections offers 45 responses from the people of Dunedin Methodist Parish to the challenge of being church and living out the gospel in their community. A comment from one member typifies the strong faith, humble attitude, realism and grace which the Parish brings to its work: "My faith, such as it is, helps me to live as well as I can, and motivates me to do what I can to help others." Readers will find themselves laughing, surprised, angered and affirmed, but mostly, nodding in agreement and encouraged in their personal spiritual journey and in their Christian responses to the people around them. The articles, selected from weekly contributions 2007-2013, are grouped into five broad categories, and cover diverse topics, including: *Celebrating God's Creation: What makes a mountain or the ocean a sacred, liminal space? The links between chaos, creation and compassion. The blessings of birds, forest and simplicity. *Responding to the Gospel: Following Jesus simply. Raising children well. Resisting greed, giving, receiving and sharing. Remembering loved ones and dealing with loss. Getting people's attention. *New Ideas for Being Church: The value of ritual. A disturbing novel of the future, in which Great Britain's obsession for the 'Beautiful Game' has led the repressive authorities to enforce it as the official religion. In fact, all other faiths have been banned, and heretics - together with all other criminal elements - have been deported to the National Penal Colony, formerly known as the Isle of Wight. On the mainland there is full employment, owing to the Government's policy of W.O.S - 'Work or Starve.' Free speech is frowned upon, so when a voice of protest is heard crying from the wilderness, the 'Preacher' is immediately branded as a wanted man. Ordered to hunt him down is Jette Black, a sexy captain in the dreaded Sports Police. A succession of wild and exciting encounters follows, by the end of which the cruel, cool chick begins to question her adversary's identity. Is he Christ or the Anti-Christ? Her mind races, as the end of the world draws nigh.
