The New Nationalism and the First World War is an edited volume dedicated to a transnational study of the features of the turn-of-the-century nationalism, its manifestations in social and political arenas and the arts, and its influence on the development of the global-scale conflict that was the First World War.
This practical book describes the latest collaborative clinical work, research, and teaching between psychologists and pediatricians in medical settings during the 1990s. The author and his colleagues thoroughly detail the benefits and pitfalls of interdisciplinary collaboration-offering a unique perspective on pediatric psychology and identifying potential areas for future research. This volume also features a descriptive model of collaborate activities and discusses professional and practical issues; empirical evaluations; development of pediatric psychology programs in academic settings; and the impact of health care reform on future research.
The last decade has seen a huge amount of change in the area of
sexually transmitted infection control and prevention, including
the development of high-profile vaccines for preventing the spread
of cervical cancer-causing human papillomavirus (HPV), novel
control methods for HIV and AIDS, and even the discussion of more
widespread use of controversial abstinence-only sex education
programs. Fully revised and updated to reflect the changes of the
past ten years, "Sexually Transmitted Diseases: Vaccines, Control
and Prevention" 2nd Edition brings researchers, clinical
investigators, clinicians, and students the most up-to-date
research, findings and thought on sexual infection prevention,
control and therapy available and serves as an essential reference
for anyone working in the field.
Veterinary practitioners are faced regularly by diseases and

patients. The Editors have gathered together contributions from 29
experts, who cover all aspects of medicine and surgery in small
mammals including rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents, hedgehogs,
ferrets, primates, squirrels, foxes, potbellied pigs, raccoons and
many more. The randomised self-assessment format is used to enable the reader to think through each case step by step. Each of the 225 questions and illustrations - colour photos, imaging, charts and tables is followed by a thorough explanation to provide diagnosis and a suggested treatment plan.

I am 55 years old as I write this, and have been Christian for a number of years. However, although I have read the words of Jesus Christ in the 25th chapter of Matthew on numerous occasions, it was not until earlier this year that those words had an impact on me that appears to have altered the course of my life. Forgive me if it is presumptuous of me to say so, but my impression is that too many Christians do not take those words seriously, when they really should. My hope is that through this anthology, and by other means, I might help to impress upon you the need to take Him seriously, and the blessing that results in taking Him seriously, and to do what He said we should do. These verses are the best I have to offer. I hope they uplift, inspire, encourage, and amuse. I titled the volume Poems and Songs for Christ because 100% of the royalties and/or profits from the sale of this work will be donated to End Starvation Foundation, Inc, who will use all of that to feed starving widows and orphans, following the injunction of our Lord to visit them in their distress (James 1:27, Ephesians 2:10, Hebrews 13:16, Matthew 25:31-46). But I will go out on a limb and say that many of the poems are even good.
The first edition of The Paris System for Reporting Urinary Cytology introduced a completely new paradigm for detecting bladder cancer by urine cytology. This system concentrated on defining morphological characteristics of the most clinically significant form of bladder cancer, High Grade Urothelial Carcinoma. This new approach has been widely accepted throughout the world, and has become part of the daily practice of cytology. Considering that the first edition of The Paris System (TPS) introduced a new model of urinary cytodiagnosis, verification and expansion of initial material and data were anticipated. Based on evolving knowledge and readership requests, the group of highly experienced authors have created a new edition of TPS. This second edition includes areas and issues not originally covered. A new chapter on urine cytology of the upper tract, a rarely addressed topic, has been introduced. Furthermore, the issue of cellular degeneration is discussed in the criteria of all diagnostic categories. Examples of standardized reports are included in each chapter. Most importantly, a separate chapter presents data defining the risk of malignancy (ROM) for each diagnostic category to inform clinical management. New high quality images augment those of the first edition to better illustrate diagnostic clues and potential pitfalls. In addition to chapters on diagnostic criteria, current concepts of pathogenesis of bladder cancer, specimen adequacy and preparation, and ancillary tests are covered in separate chapters. A bonus to the volume is a comprehensive history of urine as the earliest diagnostic sample of human disease, richly illustrated with artworks from major museums. Written by internationally recognized authorities, this comprehensive and evidence-based guide to urine cytology is supported by the newest data confirming the original concept and significance of diagnostic criteria defining High Grade Urothelial Carcinoma. TPS is an essential tool for anyone who is practicing urinary cytology, including cytotechnologists, pathologists-in-training and practicing pathologists. This book should find a place in every cytology laboratory throughout the world. The Concept has been endorsed by the American Society of Cytopathology, and the International Academy of Cytology.
This monograph indicates how such data can best be analyzed. It is important because it applies a conceptual scheme recently developed by the authors-prediction analysis-to ordinal data.
