Full-Spectrum Responsive Photocatalytic Materials: From
Fundamentals to Applications provides a comprehensive overview on
the design, synthesis concepts, mechanisms, characterization
techniques, and advances and limitations in applications of
full-spectrum responsive photocatalytic materials. The book starts
with the fundamentals of full-spectrum responsive materials. It
then discusses the problems of most semiconductors that are not
active in the whole solar spectrum and explains the benefits of
utilizing full-spectrum responsive photocatalysts. Other sections
describe examples of full-spectrum responsive photocatalysts
classified by material types and provide the design principles and
characterization protocols for these promising materials.
Photocatalysis technology based on semiconductor materials holds
great promise in various fields due to its potential advantages in
energy-saving, cost and environmental impact. Maximizing the
utilization of solar energy is always the target of pursuits in the
areas of photocatalysis, and understanding and constructing
appropriate full-spectrum (UV-VIS-NIR) responsive photocatalytic
materials offer ways to better realize the practical utilization of
photocatalysis.
This book examines urban development and its role in planning in
China and other Asian cities. Starting with a substantial narrative
on the history, development philosophy, and urban form of ancient
Asian cities, it then identifies the characteristics of urban
society and different phases of development history. It then
discusses urbanization patterns in China with a focus on spatial
layout of the city clusters in the Yangtze River Delta since the
20th Century. Lastly, it explores institutional design and the
legal system of urban planning in China and other Asian cities. As
a textbook for the "Model Course in English" for international
students listed by the Ministry of Education in China, it helps
international researchers and students to understand urban
development and planning in Asian cities.
Technologies for Biochemical Conversion of Biomass introduces
biomass biochemical conversion technology, including the
pretreatment platform, enzyme platform, cell refining platform,
sugar platform, fermentation platform, and post-treatment platform.
Readers will find a systematic treatment, not only of the basics of
biomass biochemical conversion and the introduction of each
strategy, but also of the current advances of research in this
area. Researchers will find the key problems in each technology
platform for biomass biochemical conversion identified and
solutions offered. This valuable reference book features new
scientific research and the related industrial application of
biomass biochemical conversion technology as the main content, and
then systematically introduces the basic principles and
applications of biomass biochemical conversion technology.
This book focuses on high-speed rail (HSR) and new town planning
and development related to HSR, approaching the issue from three
different perspectives: economic cooperation at a regional level;
HSR-based economic growth point at a city level; and mixed land use
and building environment in the periphery area of HSR stations. On
the basis of simulations and case studies, it proposes practical
planning principles and suggestions for area development, providing
planners with a theoretical framework to incorporate the
transportation system into new town planning. It also serves as a
valuable reference source for the authorities, enabling them to
make evidence-based and rational decisions.

Reversing the long-term trend that had downplayed the media
environment's importance in Taiwan, media literacy has been gaining
increasing interest among educators, government, researchers and
observers in recent years. Given this context, this research 1)
outlines the concerns and importance of media literacy education in
Taiwan; 2) demonstrates how youth consciousness is oppressed and
manipulated by ideologies of power in society and the media; 3)
determines effective methods for improving university students'
critical thinking about television.
