Using the Star of David as his inspiration, graphic designer and
geometrist, Larry Waitz has created hundreds of variations of the
Star of David since the 1990s, when he was first struck with the
idea to reinterpret the symbol. Since that time, Larry has created
hundreds of unique and individual Star of David inspired designs -
each one more intricate and impressive than the last, and each one
now contained within the pages of this book. Despite being a major
symbol of the Jewish faith and culture, this collection of Star of
David inspired designs is intended to be enjoyed by anyone, no
matter their background, with an appreciation for art, design, and
aesthetics. This Star of David collection is the second collection
of theme inspired art that Larry Waitz has published, the first
being his American flag inspired collection; "The American Flag,
Variations on the Theme," which is available at Larry's website
dedicated to his American flag project, www.MyOwnAmericanFlag.com.
Like the designs in his American flag book, all of the designs
contained in this Star of David collection will be made available
for sale online in both signed and unsigned formats at
MyStarofDavid.com, and larry-waitz.artistwebsites.com
The book that you currently hold in your hands is truly something
remarkable, and probably unlike anything you have ever seen before.
This book represents one small portion of an art project, of sorts,
based on the American Flag. Using the American flag as his
inspiration, Larry Waitz, the artist behind each and every one of
the designs between these pages, created 50 unique flag based
designs - one design for each of the 50 states. Each of these 50
designs can be seen as the parent design of each individual
chapter, and would serve as the inspiration for each union of
sub-designs, which can be seen as the pages of each chapter. The
intent behind this project was to honor America and her people,
which is why the titles of each chapter in this book are named for
the most popular American surnames, and why each union of designs
is named for the most popular male and female first names in the
country. After being several years in the making, Larry Waitz now
believes that this collection is ready for the public eye, and he
is excited to finally get the chance to share this collection with
you.
