English Unlimited is a six-level (A1 to C1) goals-based course for adults. Centred on purposeful, real-life objectives, it prepares learners to use English independently for global communication. Through universal topics and activities, and a focus on intercultural competence as a 'fifth skill', this international coursebook helps learners become more sensitive, more effective communicators. Teaching natural, dependable language, and with CEFR goals at its core, it brings real life into the classroom and gives learners the skills and strategies to communicate confidently outside it. The 'Explore' sections provide the extra ingredients for enhancing communicative ability, from further development of speaking skills to independent learning strategies. The English Unlimited Intermediate A Combo with DVD-ROM includes Coursebook Units 1 to 7 as well as the e-Portfolio and Self-Study DVD-ROM.

A Voice from Richmond Yorkshire - The Letters of Henry Wood, 1825-1832 (Paperback): Leslie Anne Hendra A Voice from Richmond Yorkshire - The Letters of Henry Wood, 1825-1832 (Paperback)
Leslie Anne Hendra
R452 Discovery Miles 4 520 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

In 1825, Henry Wood of Richmond, North Yorkshire, began a lively correspondence with a friend in Newcastle upon Tyne. A keen observer of people and current affairs, Henry provided his friend with witty, colourful accounts of events in and around Richmond, including election hijinks, horseracing, ballooning and visits by travelling theatrical companies, lecturers and conjurors. He also discussed literature, art and botany, mused on love and courtship, and described the latest doings and saying of various Richmond 'characters'. Written between 1825 and 1832, the sixty-six surviving letters bring late Georgian Richmond to life and make delightful reading for those interested in local, social and family history. The letters are accompanied by biographical information about Henry Wood and his friends, and a detailed index.
