Coming from a large family of 10 children, Linda heard her parents, grandparents, siblings and other relatives telling tales during family visits and family functions as she grew up. Linda joined the Police Department in Chicago and heard tales on the streets daily. Today she has retired from the Chicago Police Department and surrounds herself with giggling grandchildren who love to hear her tales. Linda D Griffith is The Fictician. The Fictician; a person who tells tales of fiction, comes to you with eight tales of intrigue, pain, sorrow, and disbelief. The stories are written in a manner that draws the reader into the voice in their head and makes them believe that they are in the story, in the struggle right along with the characters in the story. The reader can identify and develop feelings for the characters as they move along the story living their roles. In the first story, 'Bloody Hands', the female in the story tells how she came to know that she had killed a man after coming to the rescue of her brother when he was being attacked by a gang of violent gamblers. 'Bloody Hands' is engaging and filled with emotion. 'His Fare to Jackson' is a story of a family tortured by the dissatisfaction of the Patriarch at living up north. He frequently got drunk and threatened the grandmother's life while demanding to be given his fare back home. His behavior one hot summer night changed the lives of his family forever. In 'I Bear Witness', the poor simple soul telling the story explains how he unwittingly became a witness to a murder and how helpless he was to prevent it as the victim locked eyes with him the entire time. 'Nightmare Freight' deals with a town of mischievous kids taking advantage of a striking railroad system and how it ended in the death of one of them. "How to Prosper in Difficult Economic Times" is for everyone born without a silver spoon and without a family member whose name adorns one of the buildings at the nearest Ivy League school. This writing is for anyone who has faced or is facing hardship, stress, or hopelessness of a financial nature. If that's you, I encourage you to continue. Within these pages are the lessons I've learned through the hardships of my own journey, set and explained within the context of my circumstances, and how those circumstances have drastically changed. "I received your book yesterday and read it through last night. You have a powerful and encouraging testimony, thank you for sharing it with us. I also appreciate you distinguishing between just hoping and actually believing God in prayer, that message was very timely for me." I am in the process of reading your book, I am halfway through and I all I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you " "When I started reading your book, I couldn't put it down It was so inspiring, I had to read every word "
It's a time of passion and confusion. Virtue is barely holding down its petticoats. People are bursting their corsets with unbridled desire. It's 1885, and the typewriter and the suffrage movement are sending things topsy-turvy. In the midst of it all, five ambitious New Women and one Newish Man struggle to find their way. Miss Mary Barfoot runs a school for secretaries with her young lover, Miss Rhoda Nunn. But when the Misses Madden - spinsters Virginia and Alice and beautiful young Monica - arrive, along with the attractive Dr. Everard Barfoot, things can never be the same. Age of Arousal is a lavish, sexy, frenetic ensemble piece about the forbidden and gloriously liberated self - genre-busting, rule-bending, and ambitiously original.
