Turk's parents are proud of him, the biggest, strongest, most
graceful bird at Wishbone Farm. "He's a dancer," says his mother.
"He's an athlete," says his father. "He's a goner," says his little
brother, Runt.
But no one ever listens to Runt -- even after people with
seasonal plans and roasting pans begin showing up at Wishbone Farm,
or even after the juiciest turkeys are chosen, one by one. "Chosen
for what?" Turk asks. No one wants to hear Runt's answer. But you
will laugh at what he has to do to get his family's attention. They
are, after all, turkeys.
A Hug Is for Holding Me is a sweet, cozy book about love and
affection and invites children to engage with the natural world in
a fresh, new way. Some hugs are tight and some hugs are snug . . .
but guess who gives the BEST hugs?
All across this great big world, jobs are getting done by many
hands in many lands. It takes much more than ONE. Gorgeously
written and illustrated, this is an eye-opening exploration of the
many types of work that go into building our world - from the
making of a bridge to a wind farm, an amusement park, and even the
very picture book that you are reading. An architect may dream up
the plans for a house, but someone has to actually work the saws
and pound the nails. This book is a thank-you to the skilled women
and men who work tirelessly to see our dreams brought to life.
Some children are simply too naughty for Mother Goose to handle.
Luckily her sister Spinster Goose knows just how to deal with these
uncouth urchins. Her school is home to some world-class
troublemakers: they bite and pinch, they talk back and fight--they
eat chalk But brats beware--this isn't just any school, and
Spinster isn't your average goose. Her curious methods will rid
these students of their horrendous behaviors...right?
Fans of Mother Goose will delight in these devilishly twisted
alternatives to classic rhymes.

Our Voice is a student written and edited ebook produced by the
students of Twin Lakes School Corporation in Monticello, Indiana.
It is a crosscurriculur, inclusive writing project that seeks to
raise interest in creative writing amongst K-12 students in our
district. It may not be the only student magazine out there, but it
goes two steps beyond by creating an entrepreneurial opportunity
for students interested in digital media, publishing, marketing,
and entrepreneurship as well as offering the chance for student
writers to get published. All proceeds from sales go into a
scholarship fund for students or towards publishing a physical
version of the ebook. This compilation encompasses the first four
volumes of Our Voice, which covers two school years, 2011-2013.
