This cutting-edge book explores the impact of pandemic shocks and
other crises on businesses. Focusing on growing threats to business
resilience, it offers innovative strategies to manage financial
change and reposition small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and
entrepreneurs for success. The expert team of contributors provide
multi-dimensional perspectives on how to support businesses to
access finance. Focusing on SMEs, the book analyses the diverse
coping strategies adopted by firms to resolve entrepreneurial
issues. Chapters evaluate the impact of crises on SMEs’ finances;
the latest developments in debt, equity and asset-based finance;
and recent global inflationary pressures. Ultimately, the book
argues that SME resilience is central to a strong economy, and
swift action from governments, financial institutions, and other
stakeholders is needed to curb the liquidity trap faced by
businesses. Tackling theoretical, practical and policy issues, this
book will be a useful resource for students and researchers of
entrepreneurship, financial regulation and the economics of
innovation. It will also be an invaluable guide for policymakers
and practitioners seeking to boost SME resilience and control
economic shocks.

The Road Less Traveled and Beyond is the culmination of a lifetime of Dr. M. Scott Peck's counseling, lecturing, and writing, and the conclusion of the "Road" trilogy. In it, we are led to a deeper awareness of how to live rich, fulfilling lives in a world fraught with stress and anxiety. With the rare combination of profound psychological insight and deep spirituality that has already spoken to millions of readers, Dr. Peck talks about decision making and the choices we make every day in business and at home, and the ethical choices that may affect the very survival of humankind. We learn the difference between good and evil, to overcome narcissism, to love and be loved, to live with paradox, to accept the consequences of our actions all through life, and to come to terms with dying and death. Dr. Peck is a guide on the adventure that is life, learning, and spiritual growth—life's greatest adventure. Building in depth and power from the very first chapter to its lyrical and poetic conclusion, The Road Less Traveled and Beyond is an adventure in itself.
Tracing developments in toy making and marketing across the
evolving landscape of the 20th century, this encyclopedia is a
comprehensive reference guide to America's most popular playthings
and the culture to which they belong. From the origins of favorite
playthings to their associations with events and activities, the
study of a nation's toys reveals the hopes, goals, values, and
priorities of its people. Toys have influenced the science, art,
and religion of the United States, and have contributed to the
development of business, politics, and medicine. Toys and American
Culture: An Encyclopedia documents America's shifting cultural
values as they are embedded within and transmitted by the nation's
favorite playthings. Alphabetically arranged entries trace
developments in toy making and toy marketing across the evolving
landscape of 20th-century America. In addition to discussing the
history of America's most influential toys, the book contains
specific entries on the individuals, organizations, companies, and
publications that gave shape to America's culture of play from 1900
to 2000. Toys from the two decades that frame the 20th century are
also included, as bridges to the fascinating past—and the
inspiring future—of American toys.

send, process, and comprehend hearing, language, and/or speech.

that provides culturally-competent hearing, language, and speech
services and cases across age groups, communication disorders, and
culturally diverse populations. These case studies offer a

services. Highlighting various topics such as counseling, language
learning, and genetics, this book is indispensable for
speech-language pathologists, audiologists, counselors,
administrators, academicians, researchers, practitioners, and
students.

After the intervention of an Olympian goddess, a male chauvinist
wakes next morning a beautiful woman. An initial panic is followed

salons, dancing backward in high heels, makeup, waxing, sex from a
new perspective, birth control, and more. The compensations are
discovery of the importance of shoes, suddenly being found
attractive rather than ordinary and what? After each challenge she
faces, Mika's body gradually takes control, and she becomes more
feminine. Unfortunately, a part of her previous male self remains
in her head, complaining about every female activity he has to
endure. She finds memories of life as a red-blooded womaniser are
sometimes a weak defence against the type of man she once was. Can

Correcting the notion that French influence in the Americas was
confined mostly to Quebec and New Orleans, this collection reveals
a wide range of vibrant French-speaking communities in the Americas
both during and long after the end of French colonial rule.
Analyzing artifacts including clay pipes, colonoware, and food
remains alongside a rich body of historical records, contributors
focus on how French descendants impacted North America, the
Caribbean, and South America even after 1763. They argue that
communities do not need to be located in French colonies or contain
French artifacts to be considered Francophone, and they show that
many Francophone groups were composed of a complex mix of ethnic
French, Metis, Native Americans, and African Americans. This volume
emphasizes that French colonists and their descendants have played
an important role in New World histories.
It is hard to deny the enormous impact of Wordsworth's writing upon
the literary and cultural world that followed him. This new
collection of specially-commissioned essays provides the most
complete picture yet to be produced of the influence of William
Wordsworth's writing upon major American writers of the nineteenth
century, such as Thoreau, Fuller, Whitman, Melville, Dickinson and
others. In addition to providing a thorough account of Wordsworth's
influence on American literature, this collection also seeks to
address the poet's influence on American culture, from religious
reform to civic humanism, and in so doing hints at a new theory of
transatlantic influence that accounts for transnational literary as
well as cultural exchange. Contributors include James Butler,
Elizabeth Fay, Stephen Gill, Susan Manning and Adam Potkay, amongst
others.
