This book examines four aspects of Malaysian consumers' financial
vulnerabilities. First, it discusses the issue of over-indebtedness
due to excessive reliance on consumer financing. Second, the book
investigates why Malaysians are ill-prepared for their golden years
in terms of retirement planning and savings. Third, it delves into
the problem of financial fraud victimisation among Malaysian
consumers. Fourth, the book analyses the reasons why Malaysians are
underinsured despite the distinct benefits of life insurance.
Drawing on secondary data from government agencies such as Bank
Negara Malaysia, Employees' Provident Fund, Royal Malaysian Police
and the Department of Statistics Malaysia, each chapter presents
statistical trends reflecting the four financial vulnerabilities.
In-depth analyses of the literature reveal three broad
psychological domains (cognition, motivation, and disposition) and
specific psychological factors (e.g. over-confidence, self-control,
social norms, and financial literacy) that significantly influence
consumers' financial decisions. The four financial vulnerabilities
investigated in this book directly address the strategic outcomes
of the Malaysian National Strategy for Financial Literacy 2019-2023
(MNSFL), a five-year plan to elevate the financial literacy of
Malaysians. Finally, the book presents strategic recommendations
that are believed to be useful guidelines for relevant policymakers
to promote positive financial behaviours and rational attitudes
among consumers. It will be a useful resource for policymakers and
researchers interested in economic psychology and behavioural
finance.

Migration Practice as Creative Practice: An Interdisciplinary
Exploration of Migration presents an in-depth evaluation of
migrants' contributions to modern socio-economic structures.
Leading with a discussion of the historical construction of
migration and what it signifies in the modern globalised economies,
an interdisciplinary range of contributors examine the interaction
of migrants with new cultures, migrants' embeddedness into new
environments and what that signifies for community relations. The
book discusses the creative energies that migrants bring to the
private and public spheres. Migration Practice as Creative Practice
examines how migrants use their social lives, lived experiences,
the process of identity formation and histories to inject positive
'newness' into host cultural and economic architectures. The book
calls for more creative ways of researching migrant lived
experiences and brings to life the different ways of approaching
migrant research for scholars today.
World Economic Issues at the United Nations: Half a Century of
Debate attempts an objective analysis of the discussions in the
policy forums of the United Nations on the major issues in the
world economy over the past half a century. The book opens with a
brief survey of the world economy since the Second World War. The
following chapter presents a bird's-eye view of the issues
discussed as well as a perspective on each of the issues. Starting
with the issues of growth and stability in industrial countries,
the study goes on to present discussions on the evolving issues of
development of less developed countries. The volume devotes a
substantial chapter on the efforts at establishment of the new
international economic order. The more mundane matters of food
needs of developing countries and their pervasive poverty are not
lost sight of. Discussions on other major issues of interest and
concern to developing countries, such as those of primary
commodities, and the crisis of external debt, as well as issues of
international trade, occupy a substantial space in the study. Two
short chapters dwell on debates relating to transnational
corporations and the international monetary system, especially as
they concerned developing countries. The book concludes with a
substantial chapter on resources, environment and sustainable
development, a subject of growing importance at the United Nations.
A principal justification of the study is that these discussions
and debates constituted a major body of thinking on the world
economy that is worth surveying. A central aim is to follow the
evolving ideas over time in each field, to describe not only what
was debated but how, and in the process it throws light on the
nature and limits of international economic cooperation. An all
important question underlies an investigation of this nature. Many
of those who were engaged in the half century of debate sought to
change the world economy, some by only tinkering with it, others by
radical reform. Has anything changed as a result? One would like to
ponder, even though the answer may not be all that clear. The
present study is offered as a modest contribution to any
examination of the past achievements and future roles of the
organization.

This study tried to assess the effects of some antecedents of
psychological empowerment (i.e. Locus of Control, Information about
strategic goals of organization and performance, self-esteem,
trust, recognition, contingent financial reward, job security,
employee-supervisor relationship, skill-knowledge and relationship
with co-workers) on four cognition s of psychological empowerment
(i.e. Meaning, Self-determination, Impact and Competence). For
collecting primary data, questionnaire (including 33 like rt scale
questions) was distributed among 180 employees working in
organization in private sector in different geographical location.
For achieving more detailed results, each question for both
dependent and independent variable was considered as a variable,
then reliability and validity test was implemented and finally
multiple regression analysis for each nine dependent variable was
employed. Each antecedent showed different influence on each
dimension of psychological empowerment; for instance locus of
control affected the cognition of impact mostly then sense of
meaning, self-determination and finally there was little
correlation between locus of control and the sense of compete
Are HRM practices, procedural justice and ethical behavior
important source of employees' misconduct? What are the
relationships among HRM practices, procedural justice, ethical
behavior and Employee Misconduct in this context? To answer these
questions, we i) develop a theoretical framework describing the
factors that contribute to Employee Misconduct, ii) test the
proposed model using Factor Analysis, multiple Regression Analysis
techniques and others on both public and private sector employees'
sample data collected via hand and web survey, and iii) consider
the implication of the model. The results of the study show that
HRM practices have a strong relationship with procedural justice.
Three of HRM practices, training and development, performance
management and promotion and compensation and incentives have
strong impacts on Employee Misconduct. Interestingly, procedural
justice mediates the relationship between HRM practices and
Employee Misconduct whereas unethical behavior of self and
co-worker moderate the relationship between procedural justice and
Employee Misconduct.

Author tries his best to complete this book. If there is any faults
are found, please take it as minority basis.
This book contains eight chapters include with references. Chapter
one contains the description about the work. Chapter two contains
literature survey. Chapter three describes lock stitch formation
process. Chapter four contains preliminary investigation of the
thesis work. Chapter five contains experimental details of the
work. In this chapter a grading system is developed on the respect
of some sewing properties. Chapter six contains discussion of
results. Conclusion implies that both sewing thread count and SPI
affect sewing quality. At present sewing thread count is selected
according to the GSM, strength, length, uniformity, elasticity, etc
of the fabric. Our research indicates that this approach of
selecting sewing thread count is not appropriate. According to our
research sewing thread must be selected giving due regards to the
cover factor of both fabric as well as sewing thread. Cover factor
of sewing thread is related to the count of sewing thread and SPI.
Further research may be carried out to develop some mathematical
relation so that the count of sewing thread can be worked out from
the fabric constructional parameters.
The book consists of 11 chapters. Every chapter is described
separately. Chapter-1 contains introduction, Chapter-2 contains
merchandising. In this chapter, the author tries himself best to
give clear conception about merchandiser, their function and
quality, etc. Chapter-3 contains brief description about
accessories and trimmings. Chapter- 4 contains consumption and
costing. In this chapter the author tries to a proper solution of
an apparel consumption and costing process. Chapter-5 contains a
short description of yarn count. Chapter-6 describes about L/C and
shipment process.Chapter-7 describes about care instructions. Every
export oriented product needs care instructions. Chapter-8 contains
a short description of various types of faults. Chapter-9 contains
various types of knit structure and their sketch with
characteristics. Chapter-10 contains a brief description of quality
control. Finally chapter-11 contains conclusion. The author has
tried his best rectify the errors. In spite of that ones, it is
likely to have some errors and omissions, everyone who read this
book,please consider this matter.
Following the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992, countries
took up the difficult task of finding a common approach that would
slow down the build-up of greenhouse gas emissions in the
atmosphere and delay changes to the planet's climate. A widespread
concern among many of the participants in the newly formed United
Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change was that the
emission reductions needed to significantly affect climate change
would cost so much that it could jeopardize the chances of a
coordinated international solution. To address this concern,
several flexible mechanisms were designed, including the CDM.While
many applaud the CDM, others are concerned with its performance and
achievements, and whether or not it will be continued beyond 2012.
Critics argue, among other things, that it has not delivered on the
sustainable development objective for which it was established and
that projects are unevenly distributed, both geographically and
sectorally.Much analysis is available on CDM, but very little
comprehensive analysis, addressing various aspects of CDM is
available. With a major decision for its continuation, a
multi-dimensional analysis would be needed. This book is about the
economic assessment of certain (not certain) CDM performances, and
its future sustainability and trajectory.
