This book focuses on using faculty mentoring to empower doctoral students to successfully complete their doctoral studies. The book is a collection of mentoring chapters showcasing professors and dissertation advisors from the most prestigious universities in the United States. Los Movimientos sociales ocurridos en Chile desde la "Revolucion de los pinguinos 2006" y potenciados en el "Movimiento estudiantil 2011," instauran una fuerte critica al sistema educacional chileno y su configuracion. Pero, cual sera la raiz de tales criticas. Una de las primeras respuestas a esta interrogante surge a traves del vinculo entre el sistema educativo y el sistema economico neoliberal implementado durante la Dictadura Militar de 1973, que utiliza la educacion en pos del desarrollismo economico. En el presente libro, se expondra a traves de diversos aspectos teoricos de la realidad economico-politico-social del pais, como el sistema educativo es consecuencia del modelo economico, revelando sus consecuencias en la reconfiguracion de la sociedad chilena, no solo en el area educativa sino, en lo social, readecuando los estratos sociales y tomando la familia como pieza fundamental en este entramado social- economico.
