The LNCS journal Transactions on Computational Science reflects recent developments in the field of Computational Science, conceiving the field not as a mere ancillary science but rather as an innovative approach supporting many other scientific disciplines. The journal focuses on original high-quality research in the realm of computational science in parallel and distributed environments, encompassing the facilitating theoretical foundations and the applications of large-scale computations and massive data processing. It addresses researchers and practitioners in areas ranging from aerospace to biochemistry, from electronics to geosciences, from mathematics to software architecture, presenting verifiable computational methods, findings, and solutions, and enabling industrial users to apply techniques of leading-edge, large-scale, high performance computational methods.This, the 40th issue of the Transactions on Computational Science, is a special issue, comprised of seven papers, and devoted to the developing and novel techniques for Trustworthy Technologies for Autonomous Human-Machine Systems. They include emerging and innovative applications of computer security-based applications, as well as theoretical contributions that are relevant to Trustworthy Technologies for Autonomous Human-Machine Systems.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 36th Computer Graphics International Conference, CGI 2019, held in Calgary, AB, Canada, in June 2019. The 30 revised full papers presented together with 28 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 231 submissions. The papers address topics such as: 3D reconstruction and rendering, virtual reality and augmented reality, computer animation, geometric modelling, geometric computing, shape and surface modelling, visual analytics, image processing, pattern recognition, motion planning, gait and activity biometric recognition, machine learning for graphics and applications in security, smart electronics, autonomous navigation systems, robotics, geographical information systems, and medicine and art.
This, the 30th issue of the Transactions on Computational Science journal, is comprised of extended versions of selected papers from the International Conference on Cyberworlds, held in Chongqing, China, in September 2016. The first paper is a position paper giving an outline of current research at the intersection of cybersecurity and cyberworlds, and specifically focusing on mining behavioral data from online social networks. The remaining 5 papers focus on a range of topics, including privacy assurance in online location services, human gait recognition using KINECT sensors, hand-gesture recognition for computer games, scene matching between the source image and the target image for virtual reality applications, and human identification using brain waves.
This, the 22nd issue of the Transactions on Computational Science journal, consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to neural and social networks and the second to geometric modeling and simulation. The four papers in PartI span the areas of information-driven online social networks, neural networks, collaborative memories, and stability controls in multi-agent networked environments. The 14th issue of the Transactions on Computational Science journal contains nine papers, all revised and extended versions of papers presented at the International Symposium on Voronoi Diagrams 2010, held in Quebec City, Canada, in June 2010. The topics covered include: the development of new generalized Voronoi diagrams and algorithms including round-trip Voronoi diagrams, maximal zone diagrams, Jensen-Bregman Voronoi diagrams, hyperbolic Voronoi diagrams, and moving network Voronoi diagrams; new algorithms based on Voronoi diagrams for applications in science and engineering, including geosensor networks deployment and optimization and homotopic object reconstruction; and the application of Delaunay triangulation for modeling and representation of Cosmic Web and rain fall distribution.
The 13th issue of the Transactions on Computational Science journal consists of two parts. The six papers in Part I span the areas of computing collision probability, digital image contour extraction, multiplicatively weighted Voronoi diagrams, multi-phase segmentation, the rough-set approach to incomplete information systems, and fault-tolerant systolic arrays for matrix multiplications. The five papers in Part II focus on neural-network-based trajectory prediction, privacy in vehicular ad-hoc networks, augmented reality for museum display and the consumer garment try-on experience, and geospatial knowledge discovery for crime analysis.
The 12th issue of the Transactions on Computational Science journal, edited by Alexei Sourin and Olga Sourina, is devoted to the topic of cyberworlds. The 13 papers in the volume constitute revised and extended versions of a selection of contributions presented at CW 2010, the 20th International Conference on Cyberworlds, held in Singapore in October 2010. The selected papers span the areas of tangible interfaces, emotion recognition, haptic modeling, decision making under uncertainty, reliability measures, use of biometrics for avatar recognition, cybernavigation, multiuser virtual environments, spatial data sampling, web visualization, and interactive character animation system design.
