The seminar Symplectic Geometry at the University of Berne in summer 1992 showed that the topic of this book is a very active field, where many different branches of mathematics come tog9ther: differential geometry, topology, partial differential equations, variational calculus, and complex analysis. As usual in such a situation, it may be tedious to collect all the necessary ingredients. The present book is intended to give the nonspecialist a solid introduction to the recent developments in symplectic and contact geometry. Chapter 1 gives a review of the symplectic group Sp(n, R), sympkctic manifolds, and Hamiltonian systems (last but not least to fix the notations). The 1\Iaslov index for closed curves as well as arcs in Sp(n, R) is discussed. This index will be used in chapters 5 and 8. Chapter 2 contains a more detailed account of symplectic manifolds start ing with a proof of the Darboux theorem saying that there are no local in variants in symplectic geometry. Bei einer solchen Szene denkt ein jeder womoglich zuerst an eine misslungene Erziehung oder eine schlechte Familienbeziehung, wahrscheinlich aber nicht an ein Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-Syndrom (AD(H)S), das es dem Kind praktisch unmoglich macht, sich in einer solchen Situation angemessen zu verhalten. Seine mangelnde Impuls- und Selbststeuerungskontrolle zwingt es sozusagen zum Ausrasten, wenn es dieses gewunschte Spielzeug nicht bekommt. Aber nicht nur die Impulsivitat, sondern auch die Unaufmerksamkeit und Hyperaktivitat, sowie soziale und emotionale Inkompetenzen gehoren zu einer solchen Storung hinzu. Heutzutage sind diese Storungsmerkmale gut bekannt und zahlen zu den meist diagnostizierten im Kindesalter. So werden beispielsweise in Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrischen Einrichtungen Haufigkeitsraten von bis zu 20 % angegeben, wobei die Symptome bei 60-70 % der Betroffenen auch noch im Erwachsenenalter fortbestehen bleiben. Wie man sieht, kann es also von grosser Bedeutung sein schon fruh im Leben eines betroffenen Kindes mit Hilfe anzusetzen, um ihm sein Leben als AD(H)S Erwachsenen leichter und unkomplizierter zu gestalten und Verstandnis von Seiten anderer zu ermoglichen. Dies kann aber nur durch hinreichende Aufklarung der Bevolkerung geschehen, weshalb es fur mich wichtig erschien, mich mit dem Thema AD(H)S auseinanderzusetzen und moglicherweise ein bisschen zu dieser Aufklarung beitragen zu konnen. Sie erzahlt von ihrer immer wiederkehrenden Angst: ... also ich fuhlte mich zu schwach, weil immer wenn ich daran denke, habe ich immer angefangen zu weinen, dann war alles wieder da, die Angst im Bauch und so ... und ich hatte halt in der Schule auch Angst, hab ich dann wieder alles falsch gemacht oder ich hab immer so gezittert oder so was halt ... und am Abend, da konnte ich nie schlafen, da hatte ich immer Alptraume, ... von anderen Mannern, die Kinder stehlen ... oder schlagen, ... und von Gespenstern: ... das kam eh immer vom Vater" (Strasser, 2006, S.56). Erfahrungen mit Gewalt in der Familie, wie sie Amela gemacht hat, kommen heutzutage ofters vor, als man meinen mochte. Immer haufiger werden hauptsachlich Frauen und Kinder geschlagen und missbraucht. Aber das Thema der hauslichen Gewalt war, ist und wird ein heikles Thema bleiben, ein Tabu-Thema, vor dem die Gesellschaft bis vor Kurzem am liebsten die Augen verschlossen hatte, da es sich fur sie eher um ein privates als um ein offentliches Problem handelte. Tatsachlich hat sich das Thema Gewalt in der Familie" erst im 20. Jahrhundert von einer privaten Frage, ..., zu einem sozialen Problem gewandelt], das verstarkt in den Blickpunkt der Fachwelt, der Offentlichkeit und der Politik geriet" (Gelles, 2002, S.1043). Was man nun konkret unter hauslicher Gewalt versteht und welche Auswirkungen diese speziell auf Kinder hat, soll im Folgenden gezeigt werden. Neben den Konsequenzen der hauslichen Gewalt sollen auch Interventions- bzw. Therapieformen angesprochen werden, die den Kindern eine Moglichkeit bieten konnen, mit ihrem Erlebten fertig zu werden.
